I had a very unpleasant experience at Puntledge Vet Clinic. The ladies at the desk where very nice, I had mentioned to them that I had never been to a vet before and they where very accommodating and helpful. When I dealt with Dr. Ken on the other hand, me and my pet where treated in a very disrespectful and unprofessional manner. He was being very rough with my rat, to the point where she was squealing LOUDLY in pain and he continued to try and hold her down and examine her. He seemed very annoyed and like he didn't want to be doing it at all. I was very scared for her and I was very close to having a panic attack. In the midst of my panic, Dr. Ken got very annoyed and snapped at me, rudely asking how I expected him to examine her while I was freaking out like that. At that point, he said that he wasn't going to do anything else. Needless to say, I am never stepping foot in this place again.

Dr Ken has been my family vet for as long as he's been in the Comox Valley...17+ years. In all those years he's treated every furbaby of ours from cats & dogs to rats & birds. I love the small clinic atmosphere and the one on one time you get with him, because you aren't being rushed out for the next client. (Unless there's an emergency!) He is direct and to the point where my animals' health is concerned. I find it unfortunate that some people feel they've have had negative experiences, but in all this time, I have never left his office feeling misinformed or unsupported. Quite the opposite in fact! I've had a few experiences when one of my pets in distress reacts extremely, and as a human I know OUR doctor's visits can include discomfort and pain during exams! It's just way harder watching our wee ones react to that I think, than when it's happening to ourselves. An animal isn't going to stifle a squeak or howl if something hurts, like humans do. Especially my rats! I have a great relationship with my vet clinic!

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Ken for 13 years. They are treated like family. The care that they receive is second to none.
