My fiance's cat is just under a year old and had to be neutered. We've been living without issue in our apartment with the only animal in the building. The apartments do not share any ventilation or really any common space other than a single entrance on a very cold stone floor. Anyways, I took the cat in that morning although angry with me he was fine. Got him back all fixed and thankfully there was no issue there. After a few days however, everything changed. I noticed a small little insect jump on me one morning, tried to smack the thing but it didn't want to die. To make a long story short, the cat had FLEAS! We bring up this news with the Animal Hospital and their response was that it was a shared ventilation system and that their place would not have fleas because of the concrete floors and sterile environment (much like my apartment). They claimed no responsibility at all and that it must all be at my end. Well, first time the cat goes out he gets FLEAS I wonder where he got them from given he just went one single place. In the end we had no choice but to buy flea treatment (If you are having an issue go to McEwans animal hospital they are cheaper but require an exam). Sadly the flea treatment Advantage does not seem to be doing the little guy any good as he is still infested. We've tried everything and nothing seems to be working including fumigation. Stay away from Limestone City Animal Hospital otherwise this story could be yours too as shortly after we talked to someone else who had the same issues. ***** Edit The owner has contacted us several times now to try to get us to come in and discuss the incident. Sadly we've lacked the time and ability. While I still feel it is likely the fleas did come from here obviously we have no way of proving anything.
Limestone City Animal Hospital was recently recommeded to me and my dog was due for his annual check-up so I decided to book with them. My dog is not only a difficult breed, but was also a rescue who had been badly beaten. This makes him very difficult to deal with at vet offices. The staff were amazing with him and my dog was somewhat comfortable while in the examination room. I couldn't have asked the vet to be more understanding of his issues. They were very helpful, answered all my questions, and gave me all my options. I was very happy with the service I received and will continue to use their services.
The folks at Limestone City Animal Hospital are just awesome. I switched to Limestone in the fall of 2012 after my previous vet was less than helpful after I had taken in a stray cat, my adorable little Biko. In contrast, Limestone City Animal Hospital, although I wasn’t even a client at that point, went out of their way to help me. Since then I have transferred over my other precious kitty, Allister into their care as well as my Mom’s beloved dog Rudy. Dr. Jason Shepherd is an amazing vet. He’s takes the time to ask the right questions and really gets to the bottom of things. He’s thorough and he really cares. I must also give a shout out to the gals on the front line, particularly Linda….always professional, but more importantly, kind and helpful.
We have been bringing my dog to Limestone since we rescued him. In that time, we have had routine care as well as the need for special care when he's been sick. Without exception the veterinarians, vet techs and front desk personnel are vigilant about providing the level of care that's needed at the moment. There is a wonderful customer service ethic. I get follow-up calls and information after our appointments. I am 100% satisfied and absolutely recommend Limestone City Animal Hospital.
The two vets (Mark and Jason) are caring, gentle, and professional - they really know their stuff, and aren't afraid to engage in a discussion about options and potential outcomes. They were so kind and caring when we had to put our last (and first) shih tzu down at age 15. Front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Nice clean waiting area and clean exam rooms. Prices average - not high, not low.
