I was lucky enough to have Cat Haven to care for my 4 elderly cats that live to be 18-19 years of age. They were kind and caring, especially when my furry friends reached the stage of no longer being able to be helped in this life. Now I have 3 youngsters, all around 2 years old, and I know that I can continue to expect very competent care of all of them through their elderly years. What a comfort!

I Love Cat Haven I have 3 cats that I adopted after my elderly cats had passed. I have nothing but good things to say about them. When I was considering how to approach the passing of my elderly cats, I found compassion, professionalism and most important, the assurance that I was doing the right thing for them individually. My new cats are a joy, and I hope to spend many happy, healthy years with them with the with the fine help of the doctors at Cat Haven.

Cat Haven will stop at nothing to get your money. Do not take your cats here unless you want to get ripped off and pay more than you expected to. As a poor student, I was outraged that they took advantage of me. What happened was that I wanted a vet tech to briefly take a look at my kitten to determine if he was ready to be neutered, and I told them specifically 3 times over the phone that I do not want to speak with the doctor so that I wouldn't have to pay the exam fee. All I wanted was the tech to tell me whether my kitten's testicles had descended enough for neutering. I was assured over the phone that they can do this for me without me having to pay the exam fee. However, when I got there, the tech led me into an exam room and the doctor walked in and started speaking with me. I thought that the doctor was nice enough to come examine my kitten for free, and I was grateful. However, as soon as I walked off, I was charged $20 for an exam fee. I asked them why I had to pay when I specifically requested (multiple times!) over the phone that that was EXACTLY what I didn't want to happen. They said that since I "engaged in conversation with the doctor," I had to pay the exam fee. They were very unsympathetic, and I was angry and disappointed with their service to their customers. There are much better vet clinics in the Birmingham area. I started taking my kitten to Red Mountain Animal Clinic on Greensprings Hwy, and the vet there was extremely nice and caring. He even gave me a student discount! Please don't go to Cat Haven. After how they treated me, it's obvious that they are purely a money-driven business.

I love Cat Haven and all the people that work there. I'm happy to pay a little more to make sure that my cats get the best care possible. When it was time to put my oldest cat down, Dr. Henkel was so compassionate and patient with us. We highly recommend Cat Haven!

I found Cat Haven to be unprofessional and unhelpful. It also is not the cleanest place. Brought my cat there for health problem and vaccinations. Was provided with no documentation of vaccinations!! They wouldn't give me documentation at the time, told to expect in in mail- which never came! Concerning health problem, not very much was explained to me, and my cats health did not improve. Tried to obtain lab results and radiograph that were done there so I could take to different vet, only to find out they don't keep lab results???!!!! And originally I was told I couldn't have radiograph, after arguing they said I could have it as long as I brought it back, but not today because they were too busy- even though there were like four staff members sitting around doing nothing this entire time! Not professional, not helpful.
