I am newly moved to Birmingham. I selected Montclair vet bc of location. Needed an annual checkup and shots for my 2 year old mixed breed dog. Dr. Stowe came into waiting room to meet his new patient. Then we went to the exam room. Nice way to ease into the exam for my dog who was scared. Dr. Stowe was was gentle but adept at drawing blood, giving shots. The vet tech, Allie, held onto my dog and "loved" her during the process. Dr. Stowe was thorough and took a great amount of time to discuss dog issues such as types of food and flea / heart worm prevention. No sales pitch for products. The receptionist was pleasant. Clean office. I was very pleased with all aspects of the visit and look forward to returning. It seems all staff are first and foremost interested in the care of your pet.

I have seen both Drs at the animal clinic. Sammy and I prefer Dr Christian. Its obvious that he loves Sammy ( my dog). We have received excellent care at the clinc and I've never seen him yell at this employees. In all fairness its agreat place to take your animal. Quality of care is excellent. I might mention that my dog is a young chihuahua and he is very scared when we go there. But it doesn't take long for either of the Drs to put him at ease.

There are two vets working here. Dr. Stowe (the younger vet) is great! I can’t praise him enough. Smart, helpful, caring, informative, trustworthy, etc… Dr Christian (the older vet) is not so great. You get the feeling he is giving you a run for your money. Kind of like talking to a sleazy car mechanic who knows you know nothing about cars and takes advantage by charging for false repairs. He also handles pets roughly and will even yell at his employees in front of clients. I have never had any problem with the receptionist or any of the staff. The receptionist has always had a warm greeting for me and my pet and has always taken care of us in a timely manner. The rest of the staff has always been very helpful, gentle, and kind as well. My suggestion is to call ahead and find out what days Dr. Stowe will be there and what days Dr. Christian will not be there…or just ask for Dr. Stowe.

I HAVE READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS THAT THE OWNERS HAVE EXPRESSED , BUT GIVIN THE CIRCUMSTANCES THESE FINE DOCTORS ARE WORKIN WITH ANIMALS ,WHICH YOU MY ALL BE AWARE EITHER ONE OF THEM SPEEK. I ASURE YOU THERE WERE NO INTENTIONS OF MAKING ANY ANIMAL UNCOMFORTABLE ON PURPOSE, SOMETIMES DOCTORS HAVE TO PUSH TO THE BRINKS TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THERE SUFFERING AND IF YOU AS HUMANS WERE WELL TRAINED IN THE FIELD TO KEEP ON MOVING....BUT I WANNA MAKE A CHANGE...I WILL LOVE ALL ANIMAL

Dr. Stowe provided excellent health care for my dog Peanut. He was very thoughful and took plenty of time to answer all questions. I was amazed at this manner, because Peanut never gets along with any animal groomer or vet, but he was relatively relaxed with this doctor. I give Dr. Stowe a very high rating
