I took my 6 month old rescue kitten Buster to this clinic on the recommendation of Dr. Ward from Springhill, Ark. My kitten when I found him was between 4-6 weeks old and had a broken pelvis. Almost everyone of my friends told me I needed to just go ahead and put him down then, but I just couldn't. During the 6 months Buster had issues with urinating, Dr. Ward did all he could to help Buster, but as Buster got older, he got worse. Dr. Ward called Dr. Beard and told him about Buster and wanted him to take a look at Buster to see what he could do to help him. I could tell when I met Dr. Beard and his assistants that they were concerned and wanted to do what they could for Buster. I left him there so they could do tests and come up with a solution for Buster. When I went to pick Buster up, Dr. Beard said he needed to discuss some things with me. He showed me the x-rays and explained in detail what he found and what he did and what options were available for Buster, none of which was good. He gave Buster a 50/50 chance of surviving surgery and even said if he did, he would be in pain practically all the time. I couldn't do that to Buster and it was the hardest decision I had to make. But they brought Buster in and so I could have time with him and make the decision of what was best for Buster. They did not rush me, they let me have the time I needed to say my goodbye and ask forgiveness from Buster. Dr. Beard explained the process and kept saying Buster would be grateful for what you are doing for him. After it was over, Dr. Beard hugged me and told me that God is smiling now that he has Buster in his arms. His assistant took Buster and wrapped him up for me and placed him in the pet carrier so I could take him home. But she made sure I was able to drive as I was really doing some crying and was so upset. She took Buster out to the car for me and asked me if I was okay enough to drive and I said yes. She said it's hard to let them go, but in Buster's case it was the best for him. He is pain free now. I just want to say that this experience was not the best for me emotionally but for Buster and seeing how the Dr. Beard and his staff was truly concerned for him and me, I am truly thankful. I would take any of my four-legged family members to him any time.

I have used West Prince Animal Hospital for 7 years now. They are WONDERFUL. I had a dog of 13 years who was a diabetic. Her life was saved by Dr. Beard several times and lived a much longer life than expected. My current Yorkies LOVE going to the vet. They have no fear of going to Dr. Beard or his staff. The staff is always so helpful and knows my animals by name. They care. They really care about the animals and go above and beyond to take really great care of them. I love this clinic and would never think about switching my primary vet or my emergency care center. I would definitely say that your pet would be in the BEST of hands while at the West Prince Animal Hospital.

I have had the most excellent experience when dealing with Dr. Beard and his staff. They are always so helpful, knowledgable, and PATIENT! Every staff member is incredibly friendly and its obvious that they love animals and have true empathy for the humans that happen to bring them in. I have been going to Dr. Beard for about 5 years now and have been impressed with every visit. I had adopted a dog from the pound that I was immediately in love with. It turned out that the animal was very sick and at death's door. Dr. Beard's staff talked honestly about the cost of caring for the sweet dog, but never pressured me to do anything other than what felt was in the best interest of the animal. I opted to pay for the treatment of the animal. It took about a week for the sweet dog to come back around and Dr. Beard's staff called me at least once a day to keep me updated on his progress (without me even having to ask). They saved that sweet dog! I now take Atlas, my dog, to Dr. Beard and see the same care and attention devoted to him with each visit. Dr. Beard is a competent and empathetic vet who has built a staff who focuses on truly caring for animals and their humans. Thank you West Prince Animal Hospital! K & Atlas

I have been to Dr. Beard on several occasions. My dog was treated very well. From having shots to having his manhood removed (can you say that for a dog?) they were great! Would absolutely suggest West Prince Animal Hospital to friends and family.

When I lived in Conway, I brought my 2yo cat to this clinic because I noticed the day before that his lymphnodes were swollen, which can mean very bad things. I was a college student working part-time and didn't have a ton of money, but was willing to pay to take care of my poor kitty. When the vet came in, he looked the cat over, listed several terminal conditions he could have based on the symptom and said it would be $300 JUST TO RUN BLOODWORK TO TEST HIM. That was my rent payment at the time, and it was made clear to me that it would cost more inevitably and of course then there's treatment...The worst part was what the vet said to me: "I know it's sad - of course, if it was our father or our aunt or something, we'd just treat him but it costs a lot more to keep an animal alive." No, seriously...that's what he said. I left BAWLING, holding my sweet little Harley, and paid the $30 for the visit [for what? IDK]. A week later I was able to save up enough to take him to another more affordable clinic that was 50 miles away [they did NOT charge $300 for bloodwork] but at that point Harley was so sick...he died on the way to the clinic. His health spiralled downward SO fast, but when I took him to Dr. Beard, he was still in great condition and spirits. It turns out he had acute kidney failure, which might or might not have been manageable...I'll never know now. It was one of the hardest things to deal with. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, DO NOT GO TO THIS COLD, HEARTLESS PLACE. I MISS MY SWEET HARLEY EVEN NOW, AND RETELLING THIS STORY HAS BROUGHT ME TO TEARS. THE VET I GO TO NOW HAS DONE ALL KINDS OF THINGS FOR MY PETS AND I'VE NEVER BEEN QUOTED RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS. THERE ARE BETTER CLINICS OUT THERE. DON'T LOSE A MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY TO THEIR MONEY-GRUBBING COLD-HEARTEDNESS.
