I am very impressed by the attention and care that our dog Theo receives when he needs to visit the vet. Dr. Shah is a very kind and attentive, always making sure that the dog is comfortable and as pain free as possible, even during uncomfortable procedures. The office staff always calls a few hours after the appointment just to make sure everything is going well. We appreciate the extra level of attention. We highly recommend Dr. Shah and all those at the Aliso Viejo Pet Clinic. I wouldn't take our dog anywhere else.
I recently took my cat to Dr. Shah. I explained to the Dr. that my cat was vomiting everyday and that I felt a bump on her abdomen. With that being said, he began to feel by her stomach, and came up with his diagnosis of a tumor that was cancerous. Never giving me any hope that it could of been something else. I was very upset and asked what could be done. He talked about surgery and chemo. I told him I would get back to him. I left the office so upset and beside myself. Later I realized that how can a doctor make a decision based solely by touch. He never ran any blood work or took any x-rays..He did want to give her blood work and an ultra sound but only after he gave me bad news... I trusted him.. I did take my cat to another vet for second opinion and the diagnosis was that she had a condition called "mega colon"...(large colon that can cause chronic constipation) Basically she was unable to defacate, which caused her to have an over size mass. She was treated and is healthy. I think that he should of did all the necessary tests before giving me traumatic news. Dr. Shah in my opinion never took the right steps to making a diagnosis. It was careless and unprofessional...
I took my dog to Dr. shah office for 2nd opinion for my dog skin disease. He was very thorough on exam, not only fixed my dog skin condition, but he showed me some teeth problem on my dog which the other vet never talked about it. My dog is not itching anymore and his mouth bad breath is gone. highly recommend this vet
He's actually a very nice Vet who generally cares for animals however every single time we took our dog in for anything other than something standard he wanted to do surgery or something that I later reconcile with myself as being "expensive". I ended up nicknaming him Dr. Frankenstein because he always wanted to open up my dog for any benign reason.
