First off I want to say this is a great vet on the weekdays. However Dr. Sam that worked last weekend was the worst vet I have ever ran into. First off within the first 30 secs of the visit she argued with me about my dog being their before. Next she recognized a lump and said it looks like cancer then she sonogram the area. She found an enlarged bladder that she drained it. She then said she wants x ray I said OK but its not my dog and I am not agreeing to charges until I talk to the owner. Then it was discover that my parents who owned the dog had a 43 dollar charge that they wouldn't treat the dog until this was taken care of. Dr Sam then spoke with my parents via phone and didn't mention the dogs condition at all just talked entirely about payment. I had to then call them and tell them what Dr Sam told me about the lump and the bladder. My parents payed the 43 dollars then said OK to the x rays. The x rays came out "fuzzy" according to Dr. Sam however she said the mass was attached to the spline she said its probably cancer her recommendation was euthanize the dog because she was an older dog. My parents 4 hours away at the start of this then maid their way back to the vet to see the dog. They found the dog to be in better shape then they expected considering what the doctor was saying. Dr. Sam offered to explain the x rays she took however when she did this it was clear that she couldn't identify the spline or the mass. My father then insisted she do blood work. The blood work came back with a kidney problem. Dr. Sam then revised her prognosis to a cyst on the kidney. By this time she was about 15 mins from closing she called us said she wanted to start aggressive treatment on the cyst she explained the other doctors were much better then her at sonograms and they would be in tomorrow the other option euthanize the dog. My father then said this was very sudden and he wants to come in tomorrow morning and make a decision. Dr. Sam said this was not possible either she wanted to start treatment (which was about $1500) or euthanize the dog because she was in terrible amount of pain. We talked it over and decided to get the dog and have her spend the night with us. We went into the clinic the doctor didn't even show her self to talk to us. Then they made us sign a paper saying that we were disregarding the doctors orders the staff then explained what we were signing in a very loud voice so all the other patients could hear. The dog is at home now going to a different vet tomorrow and best of all SHOWS NO SIGNS OF BEING IN PAIN. She is still sick but not whimpering or wining and appeared to be in better shape then when i dropped her off. Over $300 later and all I know for sure is Dr. Sam is a rookie and I wouldn't trust her with my pet hamster. Like I said in the beginning all other vets that have seen my pets here have been good or better. So this rating is for Dr. Sam more then anyone else. Fabulous and loving care. The entire staff is topnotch. They are friendly and caring. I know that all of my animals get the very best care and treatment here.I trust their judgment completely and have gone here for years.
