I've tried other vets in Burbank and the experiences have been terrible and costly. I found VCA on google and I have been going to this VCA for over a year and I love it! The staff is so pleasant and Dr. Coates is amazing with helping me tackle my dogs ear problem. I have recommended this Vet to others as I have never had any unpleasant experience or issues. Again, I recommend this vet!!

I just received a price quote for my cat who has worms. I was told it would be $46 for the office visit, $50 for a poop test and then the cost of the medicine to treat. I called my regular vet told them the same facts and I was told I could come and pick up a pill for $5. Can anyone say RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this is the same place that tried to sedate my cat when he wasnt feeling well. After they gave me the price quote of around $500, I declined treatment. They made my sign all kinds of paperwork saying that my cat would probably die if I refuse treatment. I signed as I was crying over the whole thing and took my cat home. The next morning he was back to normal and has never had a problem since. Places that overcharge and prey on peoples fears are so wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE READ THIS FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR OWN PET. Turbo (our beloved cockapoo) had been mis-diagnosed by VCA Animal Hospital in Burbank, CA, under the care of Aberman. She had a neurological problem that the vet missed, and chose to ignore my numerous calls regarding my concern for her behavior (losing balance, tripping, panting, pacing, walking in circles). The vet proceeded to put her under general anesthetic for a dental cleaning and to extract 1 abscessed tooth, she pull 10 of her teeth out (I regret giving them the okay to do what they felt was necessary, I sure wasn’t expecting it to go from 1 to 10 teeth!), without giving antibiotics prior to the surgery, over medicated her with other pills (TURBO WAS 16 YEARS OLD BTW). After the surgery her symptoms worsened. Again, the vet disregarded several calls afterwards. Five days later, the vet agrees to see her, evaluates her, says she is perfectly fine, then prescribes more medication! That night she had a seizure and would eventually have to be put down from the damage caused. I watched my poor little girl fall over, walk into walls, and lose control of her motor and body functions for a week, hoping that we might get lucky with a good recovery. Her last night, she collapsed on the floor. We took her back to emergency but unfortunately the damage was too great and we had to make the difficult decision to end her suffering. It is THE OPINION OF FOUR OTHER VETS that Turbo should not have had the surgery given the symptoms, the lack of antibiotics prior to surgery very well could have caused her demise, the doses prescribed on the other medications were 3 times or more, the needed amount for a 16lb dog. I regret trusting our dog’s life to VCA and I hope that this will encourage others to go elsewhere or at least get a second opinion. I now have names of highly recommended, respected vets. BY THE WAY, ABERMAN (VCA VET) WAS DIRECTLY NOTIFIED OF THE SEIZURE BY ONE OF HER TECHNICIANS DECEMBER 24TH IN THE MORNING, AS OF 1-5-09, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION FROM ABERMAN.

my partner and i took out 5 year old cat to this vet after the cat appeared to have flu like symptoms. the vet performed services (i.e., xrays and drawing blood) without our knowledge and before we approved them. she then forced us to pay for these unauthorized services. (mind you, these services did not help our cat and costed us over $300) the animal hospital held our cat until the money was paid. we had not anticipated a bill so high, as we were only expecting to pay about $100 for some flu medication. the vet only offered us one option for treatment that would could $3000!!!!! because we are both students, we could not afford such expensive treatment. the staff was heartless and lacked empathy!!! we had to put our cat to sleep a week later.

I have been there twice in the last 10 months and both times I took my beagle there the vets were incredibly rude. Today they charged me $550 to give my dog a muslce relaxer!!!!! The Vet tried to make me feel like an idiot and a horrible pet owner. I called another vet clinic when I got home and asked them what they would have charged me based on the itemized receipt I got from these crooks and they were appalled by how much they over charged me. NO ONE should ever go to these horrible people!
