The rescue I volunteer with uses VV. They have always given us a fair price and have never asked us to pay for anything we didn't need. They have saved the life of more then one of our dogs, and done everything in their power to help the others. I trust them as do many of the fosters for the rescue. Many of our fosters have started using VV as their personal vet as well. The staff has always been very friendly and they have always taken very good care of the pups we bring in.
People are friendly. The hours are great. They prices are reasonable. They go through the prices with you rather than just slam it on yoyo. I take both of my dogs there annual shots.
First off, Had a 7yr old maincoon that seemed to be loosing weight. Took to this facility were the vet said she had tooth infection and needed surgery but since there was an infection she needed to be on antibiotics for a week prior. OK? Dr thought it would be a good idea to incl pain meds w antibiotics....OK?? Mind you i have 5 rescues and my last cat lived 18 years w only 2 trips to vet so I'm kinda new at this. Long story short, my main coon passed away! I trusted that the vet knew what to prescribe not realizing myself that due to infection she had very little to nothing in her system. Once given the correct amt of pain meds within minutes it overdosed my cat! I almost blame myself for not knowing more but i too had just gotten home after surgery. This was a TRAGEDY TO SAY THE LEAST! A year ago this time i had a respiratory infection go thru the house that infected all cats in some way. Low on cash w a care credit card i took a leap to go back to VV to see if they can help. My one cat had fever of 105. The Dr prescribed antibiotics to the ones that appeared to be infected and the others anti virals. The next morning the cat w high temp was lethargic and had to go to ER. The ER vet said this all could have been avoided if the reg vet would have just put IV fluids in her system w electrolytes. Another 5month old kitten of mine couldn't shake the infection w/ just antibiotics and came down w pneumonia and had to b e hospitalized.. By now I'm into literally thousands of dollars for care and can't get the V..vet to return one phone call and i tried for more than 8 HRS! At my witts end i had to make a decision to pay hospital bill and surrender kitten to rescue agency for fear of re-infecting other cats. All might have been avoided if the vet would have just returned my call and given my proper direction on how to care for all animals involved. He was good enough to take my $$ but not good enough to return a call for a whole business day while my baby is there in the hospital. Good luck if your considering this place for care for your pet/family member!
I just adopted two kittens from the animal shelter and was told they would be sent to the vet to be spayed/neutered, the day of the surgery which was the next day, the reception called prior to the procedure and said that I had a couple of options: 1. I can pay extra for the kittens to receive some fluid during the surgery incase their blood pressure and heart rate decreases, I can not believe they have this as an option!! It should be automatic for the kittens safety! If a vet cares about an animal they are going to make sure the animal is safe and comfortable. It does not cost the vet much to give the kittens IV fluid through an IV which is already placed. My other option #2 was if I wanted to buy some pain medication for the kittens. The vet should give the kittens pain medication after the procedure and make it an option to have additional medication for home! Not an option for them to receive it at all depending on the new adoptive families budget. This is my first experience with this vet and I would never take my new kitten to him again. And I hate the fact that the county goes though this vet, not only have the animals been through enough but they get a final mistreatment through this vet. The Vets name is Dr. TA. Keep your pets safe and away from this place.
I have six kitties and have been coming here for 4 years now, the front desk staff is always amazing and very compassionate, the prices are reasonable, and they always seem to find a way to squeeze me in for an appointment. Dr. Sherif is truly a gem among vets and I feel lucky to be able to go to him.
