This places does not get the recognition it deserves here. The staff was very courteous. They immediately took my kitten to the back when I walked in, even before they had me fill out paperwork. I really feel that taking care of my pet was their #1 concern. There are only a few reviews online, but if you go into the office they have cards from previous patients thanking them for taking care of their pets. I really wish all of these people wrote a good review here. It bothers me that people are complaining about the prices. Health care is expensive, pet or human, and people who own pets should be prepared for this when they decide to adopt an animal. It's no more expensive here than anywhere else, plus they're open 24 hours a day. Every penny was worth making sure my kitten was healthy and not in pain.
The only expression I can use for the staff here is "dazzlingly incompetent." I took my dog, Smokey, in for an eye infection (he's had three of them already). The vet tech tried to examine Smokey immediately after putting us in an exam room. You see how many dogs a day, and you've never noticed that dogs need to sniff new places before they can relax? I was polite, apologized for him not standing still and asked if she could give him a minute to sniff around (the waiting room was completely empty) and gave her a treat to give him. She gave up trying after about 30 seconds and just didn't get his vitals. The vet we saw was Katherine Sanui. My first clue should have been when she asked me to "describe the swelling" as my dog stood in front of her with his left eye swollen almost shut. But being snarky or condescending doesn't make people want to help you, so I explained and pointed out his eye. She insisted on taking him back for a rectal exam (we haven't even gotten his pulse, but sticking your fingers in his butt is crucial?) and told me there were no other dogs in the back. If you're counting, this means there are zero other dogs on the premises. They returned Smokey to me afterward. He looked terrified and his intestines were gurgling. I put him in my lap, then realized the front of my shirt had gotten smeared with his poop. Then a flea jumped onto my chest. (Smokey is on two different preventatives). They left me sitting in there for half an hour, for no apparent reason. When I got up and found a vet tech, our medicine and the receptionist with the bill appeared within 10 seconds. I saw at least four employees walking around. Did they all forget about their ONE client? Since I happened to be wearing a bathing suit, I threw away my shirt in the parking lot. If I hadn't been dressed for the beach, I would have had to drive home with dog poop and fleas on my shirt. I sincerely hope I never have an emergency so pressing that I have to go back here. I'm afraid they would kill him. If you had asked me yesterday, I would have said it was impossible to screw up a vet appointment where the customer already knows what's wrong and how to fix it. $118 later, I've been proven wrong.
They are beyond slow when the entire place is empty, my dog had a seizure and we rushed her in at midnight no one saw us in an EMPTY building for a half hour then we were there forever waiting to be billed $300 when absolutely nothing was done. My other dog had bladder stones we were there on an empty night from midnight to 4am waiting $700 for xrays and one medication. Horrible.
This place is GOD AWFUL. I have never been so angry in my entire life!!! You take your pets to the vet thinking they’re there to save them and do the right thing only to find out that their money hungry (I can’t even call them vets). My Lula was a sweet 1 year old pup, as vital as can be. I sat for 3 hours negotiating prices while my dog lay in the back room. Their first estimate was $3000! When I told them I couldn’t afford that right now not only was I treated like the scum of the earth but they said they could take no less than $1800 "and every penny needs to be paid today." Large price jump if i do say so myself. I got word that another doctor could do the procedure for less and was eager to get my dog in her care knowing we have no time to waste. We fought with the doctors about getting my dog back for a good 45 minutes. They told me I couldn’t have my dog back until he spoke with the other vet I was trying to take Lula to. He called the vet and argued with her about how she’s ruining his business. He went in the back there for another 20 minutes, and gave me a completely, different dog then the dog i gave him. Lula looked heavily sedated she looked 100 times worse, I swear he did something to her before releasing her back to me, all because his SCAM wasn't working. Their $200 richer for NOTHING! I’m dog less, heartbroken and infuriated I want to sue these inhumane incompetent bastards!
I went to this location because i had no other option at 6pm on a Friday. My kitten hurt his eye pretty bad doing some of his gymnastics. The staff is friendly and the doctors are very kind, who seem to love their profession and are proficient at what they do. The price is a bit more than a regular vet with a flat rate added to the expected charges. My bill was actually considerably less than the last quote they gave me. The end result was a cat who hates his cone-collar but is purring happily in his owners lap. Do more research, two reviews are not enough. May I suggest learning your local vets by stopping by for checkups or asking friends with pets. Remember to have options in an emergency, medical care for any animal is best given immediately, that should be obvious (depending on your situation of course).
