I don't trust large corporations...I am a socialist....but I was shocked by the negative comments. I respect everyones pain and I am an animal lover to the nth degree but Dr. Townsend has been very caring, respectful and dedicated the times I brought my cats into see him. mmmmmm...one of the secretarys even commented on my physical appearance in a positive fashion after my retirement. I am sorry that so many people are unhappy with this clinic. Peggy Spates

I was on my way home from being out of the country 17th Dec and my dog (Disabled Veteran's Service Dog) got sick, On the 17th Dec She was brought to Bonita Animal Hospital. ( Had my dog license renewed here Bonita Animal Hospital be for I left the country) Without contacting ME!!! The owner!!!!!! they KILLED Euthanize My 8 year old dog (Red nose Pit bull) I was later told on the 18th there was nothing we could do...Sorry. So I asked about her ashes and I was TOLD I would be able to pickup her ASHES in 7 to 10 days because of the Christmas Holiday... I called today to find out they did a group Cremation instead of the private And the SAME LADY I talked to 10 day before Tells me SORRY! I didn't know I wanted the ashes! They would not see my injured and in pain puppy because I failed to see the future. I didnt have an appointment, when I knew my dog was going to hurt himself the night before. I have been going here for 15 years, now I have to find a new vet since this one has gone down hill do to ownership change.

Warning, stay away. A couple of weeks ago I took my dog in as he was horribly sick. The doctor took him in and charged me $450 of x-rays and blood tests. The doctor came out and said he did not know what was wrong. He said he was not a radiologist and could not intrepid the x-rays. He told me he is not a lab tech and could not tell what was wrong by looking at the blood work. He told me they would now need an ultrasound and to take him to the VCA hospital in mission valley after waiting for more than 3 hours. I took my dog to South Bay Veterinary Hospital, a big difference. My dog had a tumor on his spleen and had internal bleeding. Something that any Dr. could see on the x-ray and could tell by the blood work. I’m happy to say my dog was saved and doing well. This place is nothing but a money making billing machine. The front office try is to sell prescriptions and other supplies for more than 4 times what you can buy it on the internet. There is no compassion if you don’t have cash. If you do have cash there is no end in sight as to how much they will charge you.
