Top of the line veterinary medicine! From horses, to goats, to llamas, to alpacas, and even the occasional dog she offers the best medicine while keeping reasonable prices for her clients. In any emergency at any time of the day she will be there as quickly as possible. She always makes a special connection with the animals she is treating such as my mustang who is nervous around new people but quickly warmed up to Dr. Garfinkel. If there is ever a case where she feels that a client would benefit from a more specialized veterinarian such as a special case in dentistry or central body ultrasounds or advanced scoping, she will make the call and always do what is the healthiest for the animal. For as long as I am in California Dr. Garfinkel will always be my vet and the vet that I recommend to all my other large animal friends!

A shining example of what a veterinary service should be. My wife and I combined have over 40 years of horse experience and have used Dr. Garfinkel exclusively for the past ten years and would never change. She has done an outstanding job with all of our horses, from our little mustang to our huge draft horse. Dr. Garfinkel always takes the time to explain things and answer our many questions. When she comes out to see your animal you feel like she has really made time for you exclusively, and is not just rushing off to her next appointment. She has the patients of a saint when it comes to working with your animals and our horses are far from perfect. She has also taken the time to teach us volumes about preventative care, which has saved us a fortune over the years. The proof is in the pudding. Of our four horses we have two 21 year old horses that we actively ride and are in great shape. I know that sometimes veterinary diagnostics can be expensive, Dr. Garfinkel will always start with the most affordable solution and then work her way up if need be, which makes her a great value and saved us tons of money. She has seen our horses through bug bites all the way to major surgery. We just had to have our mare in for major surgery at Helen Woodward and Dr. Garfinkel kept in constant contact with the surgeon and us every step of the way. I can not explain what a comfort it was to hear from her when you are extremely concerned for your horses’ life. Dr. Garfinkel is a competing equestrian herself and owns her own horse so she has great working knowledge of riding. Would you want to have a mechanic who doesn’t drive a car?? On the service side, one of the nicest things is that when you call Dr. Garfinkel you get a real person with horse experience who is heavily involved in the business, not an answering service. In ten years I have always gotten a response when calling, even late on Sunday night (seems like that’s when your horse seem to get sick). Dr. Garfinkel has love and compassion for all living things. There is no doubt in my mind this is what she was born to do. So, if you are considering using her services, don’t think twice, she is the best!

Dr. Garfinkle is an outstanding vet. Our horse was bitten by a rattlesnake and she stayed over 8 hours saving his life. I thought my bill was going to be hugh, but she was extremely reasonable. She was so kind and compasionate. She has great insight and is extremly knowledgable. I would recommend her to anyone who loves their animals.

I had the privilege of being a client of Dr. Garfinkel's for over ten years. In that time, she has grown into the best and most personable and compassionate veterinarian in the county of San Diego. Always punctual and available for questions, concerns and emergencies, Dr. Garfinkel strives to ease all issues and worries her clients have! Not only is she an amazing vet, she is not afraid to call her fellow vets in order to solve a problem or double-check a solution! She cares not only for her client's animals, but their owners and local business around town as well. She conducts free or reduced clinics and gives exquisite advice to clients and even non-clients! When my older horse came down with a colic caused by a peduncular lipoma, Dr. Garfinkel sat up night and day with him, trying to ease his pain, all the while crying alongside me. She is an angel and I am blessed to know her as a client, but she has grown to be a friend as well!
