My cat Floyd developed an issue with urinating around the house, and our previous vet was not taking the time to understand or treat the issue. On a Saturday we reached our limit and looked for a nearby vet who was open. Dr. Anil Gowda was not only open on a Saturday, he took the time to listen about our situation and he asked the right questions to find a treatment, all while trying to keep our costs low. My greatest compliment is that he clearly communicated about the issue, which has been my problem with other vets for over 10 years. In a rush-rush profit driven world, Dr. Gowda treated a new patient (our cat) with love and attention like he was his own cat. I would highly recommend him.

I relocated to the Lemon Grove area a few months ago and my neighbor referred me here. The front desk staff was very courteous when I walked in and I was in an exam room within a few minutes. My rescued border collie mix didn't seem nervous at all to be here and he's normally stressed when I take him to see a veterinarian. Dr. Bettegowda spent a lot of time answering my questions and my dog, Bailey really liked him.

I am the owner of Roxy, an all white boxer/pit mix whom is disabled by being Deaf. We had her fixed by the vet at Lemon Grove Veterinary Hospital. On November 26th 2014 we had her appointment to have the sutures removed from her stomach. We arrived on time at 12pm, prior to the appointment we were asked to put one of their muzzels on her and to show early. We did as asked and the issue was that Roxy did not want to lay down. Roxy also showed extreme fear of the vet assistants present. The assistants then asked for us just to bring her back and they can just handle her back there. We followed back with them and as soon as the Vet himself showed up, he already seemed irritated and told us we would have to go. I explained she would be more comfortable with me there at least and he insisted we leave. As soon as we made it into the lobby door way we all heard an extremely loud scream coming from Roxy followed by a loud thud sound like she was hit... my brother went to look under the door but could not see anything. I then walked to the desk to look down the hall and there I saw the Vet who I just entrusted my dog too physically kick my dog on her right side and lift her off the ground by a rope he had around her neck. I screamed at him asking what He was doing. The vet then responded, " you didn't see anything, your mistaken"... This is while he's now trying to walk her to me. I then informed him that I physically saw him and that if he doesn't know how to handle animals that he has no business being a vet. Keep kept repeating himself as I called the police for assistance. This man is a danger to animals and his assistants who stood by and watched are no better. I would like this man to be recognized as the monster he is... he should have his license revoked and he should never be allowed around animals of any type.. He has no heart if he was so easily able to abuse my dog whom is an amazing dog and loves to love, she didn't deserve the brutality she received from this so called Veterinarian.

This was my first time at this clinic because my Boston Terrier had a major allergic reaction to something. I called the office and they were able to get me in right away. Dr Gowda and his staff are friendly and caring. He took the time to examine my dog and was educating me about the issue at hand. He discussed all my treatment options and showed me the costs up front. The choice was up to me and there was no pressure from him or his office staff. His charges are very reasonable. The clinic is kept clean. Overall a great experience and my Boston is all better. He is our new vet for any future issues for all three of my dogs. Ash C.
