I have been going to MPAH for over 20 years. I've been very happy with the care my pets have been given. I had one dog who had to be seen every two weeks, for skin condition that wasn't easy to figure out. They took great care of him and made his life much more comfortable. My two cats and other dog have also been well treated. Staff is very kind to pets, as well as polite and friendly. I have the impression they care about pets, and appreciate the in-office adoption (though I go to local humane societies - because I figure the cats at the vets are more likely to be adopted!) I suspect that negative reviewers on YELP might be influenced by medical problems for their pets. I'm sorry for them, because I know how rough that is. But I don't agree.
Performed unnecessary surgery on a terminal cat. Dr. Dane is the absolutely worst vet I have ever been to. I later found out that the symptom I brought my cat in for is always fatal, and easy to recognize. Nearly 1000 dollars and 8 days later I had to have my cat put down. It was downright inhumane and cruel - his/her license should be revoked.
I've been a client of Mid-Pen for thirty years over which time I have had 5 cats, including my current two who were adopted from Mid-Pen. If it wasn't for Mid-Pen neither of my cats would be alive today. They were taken in, treated as needed for a variety of problems (in one case, saved from starvation), after which I was able to adopt them. The adoption fees could not possibly have covered all the care these two little waifs received pre-adoption, and I can't say enough about the care and dedication Mid-Pen vets give the animals they care for. I'll never go anywhere else.
I'd really like to see the documentation you have about their pharmacy and lab procedures so that ones bill can get inflated with non-essential tests. That kind of activity, as the earlier writer said is happening, is wrong in so many ways; it is something that needs to be weeded out of the veterinary business. There are plenty of opportunities to make legitimate revenue at such a good hospital as this is, that 'nickle-and-dimming' one to death for more money is simply not even necessary (IMHO, the risks are too %uck!ng high to mess with it; why risk your business, and maybe your freedom, for such nutty things?).
We just had our beloved 13 year old in the clinic for 2 days and a night with pancreatitis. He was well cared for & we were happy with everyone who helped us. Dr. Mia Tomola was excellent & the tech Stephanie was wonderful with our boy. Dr. Theresa Voss is an absolutely wonderful vet who works there as well.
