My exotic bird family has well taken care of by both of these doctors for almost ten years. Two years ago, my 20+ yr. old sweet Blue & Gold Macaw had to be euthanized after a 3 year battle with gout. Dr. Kahler was unfailingly kind and compassionate throughout those 3 years. At the end, he treated Maxi as though she were his own and was a great comfort to me. Now, we are dealing with a possibly serious kidney disorder in my 16 yr old Moluccan Cockatoo. I know he will research everything he can to find the best treatment for her just as he did for my Macaw. He always carefully answers my questions.

He is a good but dishonest vet. He told me my 2 year old boy had hyperthyroid and did a scan and told me the red dots proved it. HE then did surgery on my 2 year old and removed his thyroid. I found out later that Dr Kahler pulled one on me and that my boy did NOT have hyperthyroid and that the red dots were only his thyroid. My boy had to be on meds for LOW thyroid and the "good" doctor had to pay me back the money he charged me so I would not sue him!
