These guys provide a service that is needed but its close to extortion. There is nowhere else to go late at night if your beloved pet has an emergency, so they take advantage of that. We had to take our dog there after it was attacked by the neighbor's dog. It needed sanitizing and stitches. This procedure cost $1300 and we had to pay it or our dog would have limped for life if not died. We came back to them to have the stitches removed and have the area looked at because a small section had become infected. They charged us another $600 to remove the stitches and remove the deteriorating area. They said we had have the bandage changed every 24 hrs after that procedure. We brought our dog back the next day and they told us they would have to sedate the dog just to remove and replace the bandage... Really? Here's the kicker, they showed us the price, $260 to remove and replace a bandage and they needed to sedate the dog... I was cool with the stitches and the second procedure because I had nowhere else to go, but $260 to change a bandage? I told them no I will take the dog to my regular vet in the morning. It cost me $25 bucks to have the bandage changed. There was no sedation needed, not even local anesthesia. The dog didn't even whimper once. I am writing this review to inform other of how to use this service. If your dog does not have a medical emergency do not go here. If you have to go tell them to keep everything to the minimum that needs to be done. Once your out of there without an arm or a leg. Schedule an appointment you regular vet. If you are in this area I recommend Dr. Gill at the vail Ranch Veterinary Hospital in Temecula. This is a sincerely compassionate man. He has more than fair prices and is just a good person.

Compassionate, highly educated expert staff, that sincerely loves animals. I had to bring my Jack Russel Terrier here when he was very sick. Turns out he had diabetes. Costs are a little expensive to have a diabetic dog stay over the weekend, but CVS saved his live. Ultimately worth every penny, to see my spunky boy, back in action, digging in the river bank of the Big Thompson River, in Colorado, only a week after being near death. Thank you for saving Joey's life. Your compassionate care and kindness extended towards my family and my most beloved pets, in my greatest times of need, is truly appreciated.

They took good care of my dog but they over charge so much that it makes it difficult for hard working people trying to make ends meet at their mercy. DO NOT LIKE THIS. They take your money but if you have a refund coming they take their sweet time getting that money back to you. VERY UNCOOL!!! Will not go back there........

Sadly, I was forced to put down my kitty last night due to kidney failure. However, the staff at California Veterinary Specialists were very caring during those difficult moments. They were very informative and supportive during the process. Three staff members offered their condolences, so thank you CVS staff for helping me through this difficult decision.
