I brought my dog in here for a bite wound. There was no wait when I got there. So I was seen very quickly. The vet was so great with my dog. My dog can get very scared and nervous when it comes to vet visits so she was extra scared when I brought her here with a bite wound. She did bark once at the vet but she understood why she barked and she knew my dog was scared. (the last vet my dog barked at, wrote down on her discharge papers that she was aggressive, when that wasnt the case at all.) I was happy when the vet didnt mind my dogs reaction. After my dogs wound was checked out and the vet let me know what she wanted to do, she went over all the costs of everything. There were some optional work she could had done with my dog and she didnt pressure me into letting her do them, like most vets would. And I let her know what my budget was and she worked great with me on the cost. My dog ended up with a drain in her leg, since there was fluid in the bite and it was very swollen, and she also had stitches put in. For the cost of that, plus the anesthesia, and trimming, the cost was extremely reasonable and stayed within my budget. Also to have the drain and stitches removed, they are not going to charge me. So huge plus there. Also, when I did get home, my dog refuses to let me clean her drain, so I called up plaza blvd and they are allowing me to bring my dog in so they can clean the drain free of charge. I highly recommend Plaza blvd as they dont rob you and put any kind of pressure on you. Plus they really cared for my dog, even if my dog didnt want it, and I saw the vet techs with other dogs while I was there and they were so great with the dogs.
The office manager is unprofessional, rude and lacks customer skills. This man is giving your company a very ugly impression and a bad reputation. My husband picked up our dog who was brought there with an eye infection. He spoke with the attending doctor and they discussed the recommended treatment plan and list of medication. He explained to the doctor that he can only pay the minimum because we are low on funds. He also said that he will be back tomorrow to have the procedure done and pick up the medication because it's pay day. The doctor exits the room and the manager takes over and asks "is your dog licensed?" and then proceeded to say "it's been a while since you brought her here." His tone was accusatory and demeaning. Then added to say that "it is standard for us to report this to Animal Control and expect a visit from them" So my husband said well, you have to do what you have to do. My daughter was there to hear this man's comment and it really upset her that we might lose our dog. My point is that no customer should be threatened with the possibility of losing their pet by a for-profit company whose charges are so extravagant. Your manager should be held accountable for his negative attitude and energy toward customers. Customer retention is attained by receiving a positive experience from the service provider not by threats, accusations and rude treatment from the manager.
I debated writing this. It all occurred back in February. But I feel compelled to write this review. I would not recommend Plaza Blvd. Vet to anyone. Anyone. My dear cat, Hilary, of 14 years was battling cancer. We were all trying to make her as comfortable as possible. She had good days and bad days. But then I noticed when she tried to eat, she would turn her head completely sideways. To drink water, she would dip her paw. I told Dr. Khaleel about this. She did a brief examination of Hilary's mouth, peering straight into her mouth for possible obstructions, etc. She found nothing and determined that the cancer would sometimes cause her lymph nodes to swell and there was nothing to be done about it. I believed her. Huge Mistake. Her strange eating and intake of water continued. Two weeks later, I took her back in to see Dr. Jordan. Dr. Jordan first examined her mouth from the side and immediately discovered a raw, red exposed cavity. THIS was the reason she had tried so painfully to eat and drink We had the tooth removed, but it was too late. She crashed 3 days later and we let her go. To think that my cat was fighting cancer with everything she had and was actually doing well enough. She had time left. Not much, but time enough. But then she had to contend with the excruciating pain of a raw exposed cavity that Dr. Khaleel missed. My Hilary had to endure a level of pain I cannot even imagine because the vet missed it. In hindsight, yes, I should have taken Hilary in sooner, but I believed what Dr. Khaleel had told me. I will have to live with that. As should Dr. Khleel. Do not take your pet to this hospital.
Reliable veterinary and grooming care. Both my rabbit and dog are patients here and have received great affection, concern, and good health promotions. Prices range depending on services, but overall is moderate. I especially like this location because it is close to home and the business has been here since I was a kid.
I have been using the services of this vet for 20+ years for a variety of dogs. My latest is probably the best example of the care I have received. I had adopted a 4 year old black lab from the pound in south bay. Off to the vet for her initial cheeckup and shots. For the next 5 years her care was in the hands of these folks at Plaza Blvd Pet Hosp. Three years ago she developed a urinary tract infection and it was learned she had Diabettis. Thanks to Dr. Khaleel we were able to keep her blood sugar within range. It did not take long to discover I was useless in getting blood and checking it for sugar levels so it was up to the staff to monitor this regularily. Good news being shortlived, I soon learned she was developing cateracts and her eye surgery was next. Again her care and recovery was focused around Doc Khaleel. We did well. I don't know if you can tell when a dog smiles, but as soon as she could play ball again, she smiled alot. A year later, she developed cancer and we were off to chemotheraphy treatments. She did not handle the chemo well and quality of life was at stake. The specialists handled the treatments but her day to day demeanor was in the hands of the people who knew her well. After three months of misery, we put her down. A loss to both myself and the guys at plaza pet. She resides alondside the TV. Thanks to Dr Khaleel and crew, I feel this was a rewarding experience from beginning to end. So much so, that I went back to the pound and am starting over with with a one and a half year old "black lab", of course.
