The staff at South Peninsula Veterinary are truly God's angels. They treat animals as though each belonged to them. They are caring, loving, experienced professionals. We have had to visit them 4 or 5 times over the years and we are always thankful for the perfect care they have given our dogs. If the dog's treatment involved spending the night we can call and receive an update on the dog's condition and progress at any time during the night or day. We are thankful they are there and thankful for the perfect care they gave our dog just recently. THANK YOU angels !!!

Our very small Yorkshire terrier travelled with us to California over Christmas and was taken ill during our stay. Our initial contact with this hospital was by phone and the person who took our call listened to our concerns and then suggested we bring Stanley in immediately. When we arrived at the clinic, we barely walked in the door when we were greeted and Stanley was given a quick cursory exam prior to our even filling out the necessary paperwork. This act, along with the phone conversation, instilled immediate confidence in our choice of clinic. From then on, everyone we came in contact with was fabulous. They admitted Stanley immediately and began his treatment. This was on Christmas Eve so you can imagine our relief to find them open and able to take care of him so quickly. With a dog as small as Stanley, one cannot afford to lose any time prior to treatment. During Stanley's stay, we were told to call anytime and to feel free to visit him if we so desired. The doctor who treated Stanley was very knowledgeable and clearly loved her vocation. When she learned that we were to travel to Yosemite on December 26 and were concerned about leaving Stanley in a kennel, she offered to have him stay at the clinic until we got back. This was incredibly helpful as then we knew if Stanley started to deteriorate again, he would have immediate access to medical care. We have the highest regard for everyone we came in contact with and cannot recommend this clinic too highly. Finally, we found the pricing for an emergency vet clinic to be very reasonable.

We brought our cat in because he was panting like a dog, and was told by the clinic that he had heart disease and that he needed to stay overnight, and they were able to calm his issue down, at least for the night, and gave us some pills to lower his heart rate. We were then referred to a doctor, Sequoia, for a ultrasound. Within 10 seconds, and I want to make sure this is clear, TEN SECONDS, the doctor at Sequoia thought it was a thyroid issue, and sure enough, the ultrasound proved such, and the vet commented that whoever saw this cat should have noticed this. That is enough for me, never again, I will drive the extra miles to San Mateo, not to save $1200, but to give our cat the best care possible.

I have no idea what the negative reviews are all about. We took our very sick puppy here over the weekend and couldn't be more satisfied with the care she was given and the sensitivity of the staff to us.

When my rats get sick I take them here. They are slow and costly but at least they take care of small animals. They are very humane when it comes to euthanasia as well (co2 then a shot.) Do not let anyone put your friend to sleep without watching them!
