Dr. Mark Secor has been my veterinarian for well over 20 years. I consider him a friend and a brilliant doctor. He is very progressive in his practice, keeping up with the latest technologies. Mark has tried new innovative, even edgy, treatments on my horses. Well known & respected in the equine industry, He & his associate veterinarians are eager in their quest to heal both horse & owner. They are always available & open to questions, even if they may sound off the wall. The other doctors are young, with vast knowledge of the makings of a horse. These young upstarts come equipped with the latest technology. Fresh new ideas & brains like sponges. I’d say it’s a bright future for our horses! I have been involved with horses for over 47 years & have had encounters with many a veterinarian. So I know from where I speak. We are making a move to the state of Washington and one of my biggest fears is that I will not be as spoiled as I have become with Dr. Mark Secor and staff. Dr. Secor knows how to hire the right people who contribute greatly to his veterinary practice. Mission Equine is AWESOME!!!!!
Grettalynn-Your first words ("I don't know Dr Secor myself") pretty much say it all. I've known Dr Secor for years. In fact, any of us that know Mark appreciate the treatment and care he affords our horses. Mark has treated all my horses-many of which he and I have rescued from neglect and abuse. He treats them medically & I train them to be confident lesson/trail horses. I have a string of 25 horses many of which are in their late teens or 20 that Mark keeps healthy and happy. As a stable owner I've had first hand experience with all of the large animal Vets in the area. I know that Dr Secor screens his associates extensively prior to hiring them and/or allowing them to practice medicine on his behalf. He and all his staff are quick to respond and always treat the horses with love and devotion. One thing that has always impressed me with Dr Secor is that he spares no expense and purchases many "State of the Art" diagnostic tools & equipment. He travels far and wide to attend conferences and clinics and makes sure his associates are familiar with the newest and most advanced procedures. Please...any of you that are reading these postings don't think twice about calling Dr Secor for all your large animal Veterinary services- you won't be sorry!
I dont know Dr. Secor myself actually I have never met him but i have been unlucky as to have met two veterinarians who work for him. I am looking for another vet because it became very apparant to me all these ladies care about is money. They do not care about your horse. I had one unpleasant experience with the vet misdiagnosing my horse and charging me hundreds. I figured it was just the vet who sucked. Later I had another lady come out for something else and I felt rushed and unable to ask her questions. I have never experienced such rude vets before so if you know of any vets who actually care about animals then let me know please. I don't mind spending money on my beloved horse, but I don't like wasting it due to incompetence and greed.
I was looking for Dr. Mark Secor's address and stumbled upon grettalynn's comments and can't leave this site without refuting her review. I DO know Mark Secor AND his associates and I highly recommend them as extremely knowledgeable and compassionate professionals. I have 3 horses who have been under the care of Dr. Secor and the other veterinarians associated with his practice and cannot praise them highly enough. I have called them out late at night and on weekends for emergencies as well as during business hours for routine care and they have ALWAYS been prompt, courteous, accurate and cost conscious. I have always been given choices for treatment plans with the corresponding cost and anticipated success fully disclosed and have chosen accordingly. I have a mare that spent 5 days in an equine hospital, was released with a "That's all we can do, but she's still not right" only to have Dr. Secor find 2 large ulcers which responded to treatment. From calling everyday to check on a very sick horse (one of the female vets grettalyn referenced) to working with other equine professionals to zero in on a difficult diagnosis and treatment, Dr. Secor and his staff always have the health and welfare of the animal first and foremost. I will always be grateful to them for not giving up on my gelding's difficult lameness. He is now sound and happy.
Hi Grettalyn, If you're out there, please call the office, so we can make amends. Mark Secor, DVM
