I don't know if things have improved, but about five years ago my beloved cat's nose wouldn't stop bleeding because of having cancer on it. I left him with the technician at American Vet Hospital and I forgot to tell him something, so I went back into the examining room where I had left my cat in his carrier. To my horror, the tech was trying to shake my bleeding cat out of the carrier over the floor. My cat was hanging on to dear life. I was appalled. The tech immediately stopped and was embarrassed that I had seen him. Needless to say, I never went back there again. Also the Vet took $400 worth of blood tests, which my next vet said where worthless - didn't reveal a thing. Not a very good experience.

Unfortunately, there is no rebuttal section on Google. So, I am left with commenting in the review section. Sorry folks. It's not a shameless plug, but more of a response to the shenanigans that are taking place on this and other review sites. Ms. Bartlett. I am very sorry that you had a negative experience back in 2004. Why post something over ten years later? Did another hospital put you up to this? I invite you to give the new place a chance-free of charge.. I think you will be impressed. I took over the facility in 2006. Our hospital provides nothing but the best of care for our patients and clients. Rather than rely on biased and sometimes nefarious reviews, I ask the public to see and experience for themselves. Might they have been a little more respectful and kind I would have been conned into paying $112 for antibiotics. When I asked them to call in the medication to Costco's pharmacy they stopped being helpful. I got my antibiotics at costco for $7!

took my dog to this place,what a horrible place receptionist vicki rude and overcharges customers doctor cant diagnosis problem told us shot $20.00 per doctpr ,vicki tried to charge us $52.00 what a rip off and then when need to come back for their misdiagnosis !!!! they want to charge for another office visit !!! they are out of their minds !!,and so they prescribe another med and that doesnt help my dog either !!!!! folks i dont recomend you to take your animal here !!! they just guess at problems and want to charge you again and again for their misdiagnosis i think a backyard mechanic might diagnosis my problem better i am taking my dog to another vet !!! dont take your dog here unless you want to get Ripped Off !!!!

So we have been taking our 3 dogs to this vet for years for shots and it seemed like a good place. Last night my dog was injured and it seemed like her leg was broken or maybe sprained. We took her to American Vet Hospital to have it checked out. Dr. Cruz was not able to tell us what was wrong with her leg. He looked at the x-rays and said that somethings wrong but he doesn't know what...My 12 year old nephew could have told me that just by looking at her. Plus he wouldn't have charged me $410 to tell me. That's right! I paid $410 to find out absolutely nothing. I have come to a realization today about this vet. About a year ago I took my other dog to Dr. Cruz to find out why it's penis was always hanging out. Can you guess what Dr. Cruz's diagnosis was back then? Yup! He didn't know why it was hanging out, but he was willing to try many different things to try and fix it. How many office visits would that take to find that out? At $410 an x-ray! This Dr. is nuts. FYI, a vet in Las Vegas said that my dog needed surgery to fix the penis but Dr. Cruz wanted to try other things first. We have brought my dogs twice to Dr. Cruz when we needed to find out what was wrong with our dogs and twice he was unable to diagnose. That's 0/2 success rate. For the reviewers that are questioning the bad reviews, I have had a geniune bad experience with Dr. Cruz so please don't try and discredit bad reviews. Why do you care anyway? If I love to eat at Mcdonald's what do I care if you hate McDonalds? I'm still going to eat there. Why do you care if another reviewer doesn't like Dr. Cruz? What's your interest in it? Do these bad reviews stop you personally from going to Dr. Cruz? Bad reviews are written as a warning to potentially new patients. Why are you protecting Dr. Cruz? Bottom line is I have had a bad experience with this vet. I have taken my dogs to Dr. Cruz twice to find out what was wrong with my dog and both times he didn't know. That's a 100% failure rate. Beware!
