I love and protect my animals as if they were children. I am writing this review because I have found a vet everyone needs to know about. Dr. Laurel Cain at the Animal Care Center, in Temecula, is the BEST of the best. She is an AMAZING walking book of knowledge. The first time you meet her, you can just feel her love of animals and her dedication to their well being. I was at the end of my rope the day I walked through the doors of Animal Care Center. My beloved pet, Summer, was barely eating and becoming increasingly more and more lethargic. I had taken her to other vets but she just wasn't getting any better. One of the first things that impressed me about Dr Cain was how Summer didn't growl or so much as attempt to get away from her while being examined. Next was how after Summers exam was complete, Dr Cain didn't just plop her down or stuff her back in the carrier, she held her,she petted her and she talked to her up until the time we left.. That may sound silly to some, but to me it spoke volumes. Dr Cain spent a tremendous amount of time and went into great detail explaining Summers condition(s) to me. She explained her condition as it was then, where it would go, and the options available for her treatment. For the first time I had a 100% understanding of what I was (Summer was) dealing with and I had renewed hope my precious fur baby might have a real shot of living a normal life. That was over 2 years ago and I am so relieved to be able to say that Summer is doing FANTASTIC. She's eating, she's playing, she's gained her weight back. She's Happy and becoming more and more healthy and this is ALL because of the care she has received from Dr.Cain !! If this review is too long, its simply because I want every one who reads it to know my entire story and the wonderful ending it has If you love your pet and care about the care they receive - this is the ONLY place to go

We took our dogs to be boarded for one night and had a strange experience. The vet staff would not let us see where the dogs would be kept. When we came to pick up our dogs the next morning, the vet office smelled of cat urine and again we were told we could not see where they were kept. The staff became incredibly upset when we asked to see the back room, leading us to wonder just what was going on back there! Well, we're still wondering because our dogs stunk to high heaven of cat urine when we brought them home. Everything had to be cleaned, including our vehicle. We've never had a complaint about a vet hospital. Next time I'll follow my gut instinct and leave when vet staff won't let me see where my little 4-legged is going to be sleeping. We certainly won't go back to this vet.

I brought my Champion bitch here for a consult before whelping, our dogs are part of our family and are loved and adored. I found Dr. Cain and staff to be easy to work with and extremely helpful. My dog was treated with respect and Dr. Cain has an incredible amount of knowledge which she was willing to take the time to share.....they were willing to stay after hours for us and so far our experience has been wonderful. Butterfield vet is the worst you could ever go to for anything other than very routine care, my other girl did not make it through a routine C-section there!

I am disgusted with this place! I took my little yorkie there to get what was supposed to be a routine teeth cleaning. They said they would call with an update during his surgery to let me know if they needed to remove any of his teeth and that he was doing well (they charge $15-35 per tooth that they have to remove). by 5pm I still hadn't heard anything and i dropped him off at 8am so i called. when i called the vets husband, who was working the front office at the time informed me that they did the cleaning, and oh yeah, by the way supposedly "had" to remove THIRTEEN of his teeth!!!! I almost died! we were told before we brought him in that it was going to be $150 but since they conveniently charge per tooth removal they said it would now be $800! I asked why i wasn't called during the surgery like they told me they would and he just replied "we were too busy"... yeah, i'm sure you were... when they were in the back getting our dog, i could hear him yelping. when they brought him out to me he had crusty dried up blood all over his head, he was so drugged up his eyes were rolling back and he had broken blood vessels in his eye, he looked horrible and it absolutely broke my heart to see him like that! he was clearly given way too many drugs for his size cause he couldn't even sit up on his own with out falling over! When i cautiously brought him in for his follow-up a couple days later, the vet practically man-handled him while he was still very sore and recovering and he yelped again. she then took him out of the room for like 10 minutes to "check him" i have no idea why she needed to leave the room to check him and why she just couldn't do it in front of me?? since then every time i bring into our NEW (and 100 x's better vet) he starts shaking and goes into panic mode, it breaks my heart! i feel so guilty that i brought him to Animal Care Center for what i thought would be a simple teeth cleaning! Please Please do not bring your pets here!

Please don’t take your pet to this place. The people work there is very rude, except the manager. The doctor is very rude, wont even look at you when you go in to this place. There refuse to look at my very sick cat, just because we late 5 minutes for our appointment and we sat there 20 minutes, until they even speck to us. They also charge so much, almost $ 900.00 just to be a blood work and keep the cat at the hospital 12 hours, so save your pet and save your money and take them to some other place.
