I was heartbroken that I had to make to choice to leave another office because of some inflexible policies they had, so I asked for referrals from friends. Riverview came highly recommended. With reluctance to leave my previous vet, I took my dogs in for some routine care. I was immediately comforted by the vibe, the care, the organization and thoroughness. Soon after, I had a dog and cat who were having troubles and I took them in to find out that we were dealing with some long term diseases that would require both a great deal of care and effort at home, but many visits and much expense. I was given the care, the information, financial resources, moral support , as well as the time I needed to figure things out. Now both pets are doing well. Last week, we had to go in once more for traumatic care. It was the end of the day and required them to stay late for minor surgery, but they don't even give you a hint of a feeling that you are making them stay late. What a great office!

Fantastic service. Seriously, these folks are wonderful. We were traveling through the area for 4th of July when our dog started vomiting uncontrollably for hours. We went to Riverview on a Saturday and didn't have to wait very long until we were seen. They talked to us at length about our dog's issues and recent history. When it came time for test/x-rays/procedures the vet made sure we understood everything and all costs associated with them. They were very thorough and we left feeling confident our sick dog would be ok. Their kindness, professionalism and attentive care certainly receives 5 stars.

We have been to many vets due to moving, and Riverview is by far the best practice we have used to care for our pets. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable and the vets are the best! Our dog loves Dr. Stacy and she saved us from spending thousands on an unnecessary surgery. It does cost a bit more, but the quality of the care for our best friend is totally worth it.

During a month long travel vacation our standard poodle was injured while playing in a dog park. Dr. Hays returned our emergency call promptly and wisely advised us as to what might have happened, what to do, and medications to help ease the discomfort. We ended up needing an exam and the staff was very friendly, caring, and professional. Turns out Jobey had a torn ACL. We were advised on all treatments and which is considered the best...were very patient and took time to explain procedures. The Dr. recommended waiting for the surgeon to take the X-rays because most like to take their own. I appreciated them not putting Jobey through the discomfort and incurring unnecessary charges. I would use this clinic as my vet if we resided in Durango. Appreciated their help...highly recommend!

Since we moved to Durango seven years ago, Dr Stacee and the team at Riverview Animal Hospital have been taking GREAT care of our two Great Pyrenees kids - Henry and Gypsy. They have helped us through emergencies (Gypsy being hit by a car and breaking two bones in her leg as well as losing some teeth), routine great care and now senior dog care for Henry. Each step of the way, both the kids and both of us have felt special and loved and cared for. It is such a change from our previous vets in other states. This is a special place that all of us love!!!!
