My family has known Dr. Dreyer for many years. He is the utmost professional and genuinely cares about the animals he treats and their owners. Dr. Torres is also extremely helpful. We brought our family's cat to the Animal Hospital for 17 years. Now, my parents bring their two kittens there and I would bring my cat as well if I didn't live too far away.
When having my dog Xrayed they were very rough and inconsiderate, making his injury worse in the process. Talked to three staff and none cared at all, making it a very awful experience and will I never be going back.
We took our cat here for her sensitive urinary tract issues (What we now know is Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, no thanks to this animal hospital). As her condition seemed to be urgent, we were in and out of the offices 4-5 times over the course of a few weeks, and every time we were seen by a different vet. Every single time, the vet seemed to be disorganized and unaware of our previous visits, and we had to explain our situation over and over. Dr. Lederer was extremely unprofessional and caused us unnecessary stress by immediately telling us it could be tumors, internal bleeding, etc. when in fact it is something very common and rarely anything serious. He spent 15 minutes telling us that he is retired, no longer a vet, and he just "helps out here sometimes." Then he told us that he used to use an invasive procedure of his own making that heavily sedates cats for days while he flushes them out with ice water. "That's not something they teach in schools, it's just something I came up with. We might do that on your cat if we have to." This man sounded like a complete quack, who at the very least had a horrible bedside manner. We eventually ended up having to take our cat to an emergency clinic in the middle of the night as she was urinating quite a lot of blood. We got more answers that one night than we did from Longmont Animal Hospital in 4 visits. Several hundred dollars later, come to find out all we needed was to switch to wet food and keep on eye on our cat's hydration because of the arid CO climate. Please save your money and sanity and go elsewhere.
We were treated horribly by another clinic in town. We brought our cat here after an brutal attack from a large animal. She had severe injuries, but the vets treated us and her with the utmost compassion. They have given us all of our options and even let us take her home to pass peacefully at home. Some of her options were very grave. We brought her home to spend the last night with her in her favorite place, in my lap. While she was at home she got up and walked around which was a miracle. She had a possible spinal cord injury that prevented her from walking for a few days while being hospitalized. After calling the vet back during the evening hours, she decided to fight and the vets are behind us. They rallied and found her a blood donor from a personal pet from an employee. They never demanded high dollar tests that were unnecessary and were mindful of my teacher's salary. They have called us at home to inform us of her conditions as well as check on her while at home. They kept care of us and our grief as well as our cat's pain. After her night home, her spirits and will to live turned around. She is going to have surgery to repair her hernia today. I am grateful for the kindness and compassion here from all staff and the Doctors. I will send everyone I know here in the future. The costs of treatments are middle of the road, but well worth it. Regardless of Miss Cleo's outcome, I will bring all of my pets here in the future.
I have been taking my fur kids to the Animal Hosptial for over 7 years. The knowledge of all the Doctors is enormous. I do have my favorites but would not hesitate for any one of them to EXAM or TREAT my "kids". I as well have been treated with the utmost respect and consideration every time I have been their. My Ginger LOVES going to the Vet! I would not trust their care to anyone else.
