I was thoroughly impressed with the entire staff at Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists. Last night our dog was bit and we took her in at 10pm. It was a small wound and they cleaned it up and got us out the door in under an hour. Each one of the staff was personal, comforting, and looking to help as best they could. It was the simple things that put this Vet hospital over the top for me. My dog wasn't just a task for them to complete last night, instead each staff member helped our dog warm up to them, may sound like a silly thing, but this approach was in everything else they did. The price was decent, the people were great, and my dog is at home getting better. I would recommend going to Aspen Meadow for after hour pet emergencies.
I brought my dog into here Sunday afternoon, he had been hit by a car no more than an hour before that. The vet told me absolutely nothing about him just that he was stable for that moment being, and that he was in pain, rather than checking the things I had noticed were wrong all she said was she didnt notice them. More than that, all she wanted was me to do 700$ worth of testing. When I took himnto another vet the fully examined him in from of me, and they answered my questions about what was wrong with him, without the 700$ of testing
This place is amazing! My dog is my best bud, and when something is wrong I look for the best care around. Penni gets extremely nervous when she goes to vet hospitals but when I brought her in to Aspen Meadow, just the greeting she received from the receptionist visibly calmed her down. They did xrays on her and decided to scope her elbows, which meant surgery- I was a wreck. Day of surgery, as I'm checking her in, Sheri asked how i was and I just started sobbing... she just hugged me, EXACTLY what I needed. They did the surgery and called me immediately after to let me know how everything went. When I picked her up they gave me a aftercare packet that had her picture on it, along with everything that happened prior to surgery, during surgery, and what the next few weeks would look like. This was AMAZING!!! If you're looking for quality pet care with a caring staff, this is the place for you. I will always go back to Aspen Meadows :) Money is always tight for me but they are worth every cent!!
Be very VERY certain they know that if their initial estimate is not 100% exactly what they are doing for your pet at any given moment, they know to contact you DIRECTLY and IMMEDIATELY for clear authorization to proceed with any unexpected treatment or therapies or examinations or procedures. Apparently there is some issue in their ability to communicate this within their staff, and this can turn an estimated 150$ visit (for some scratches which may have needed some antibiotics) into a $1,200 visit {that includes putting the pet under anesthesia to clean the scratches and other seemingly excessive additions to the treatment plan). I am just saying, be clear and precise and repeat your understanding with the vet as well as the office staff of exactly what you are authorizing them to do, before you leave your pet's side for them to proceed with care.
From the moment we walked into Aspen Meadows for the first time, we were treated kindly and with respect -- never rushed, presented with options and informed in advance about costs (no surprises). Our Golden Retriever was welcomed with open and loving arms. Dr. Rooney and his staff helped us through heart surgery. Our dog then developed not one but TWO kinds of cancers - one quite rare. Dr. Perry and his staff guided us through more than a year of treatment. When Dr. Perry moved away and was unavailable by phone, Kelsey Jones got our questions answered quickly by the Internal Medicine Department. The communication between Aspen Meadows and my local vet is open and constant. We are now going to adopt and elderly Golden who has cancer. We sent the reports to Aspen Meadows and the new oncologist, Dr. Brooke Fowler, called us to discuss the reports even though she not yet met us nor our new dog! Who could ask for better attention? This place is wonderful and we trust and highly recommend Aspen Meadows for any kind of pet care.
