We have taken our dogs and cats to Olde Towne Animal Medical Center for more than a decade. Dr. Susan Muench provides thoughtful care to each animal she treats. She communicates well with both 2-leggeds and 4-leggeds. She provides the pet owner with information about what is going on with the pet and provides alternatives for treatment when appropriate. Her clinic also sends out reminders for vaccinations which is really helpful in keeping them up to date. We always value and enjoy checkups of our Corgi and cats at Olde Towne Animal.
I've been taking my dogs to Olde Towne Animal Medical Center since they were small puppies (nearly 13 years), after being referred there by a friend. Dr. Muench and Dr. Abernathy truly care about my dogs as if they were their own. Their staff is very caring and conscientious, and I have always gotten timely followup calls. I very much appreciate the acupuncture they offer, and my dog has benefitted so much from it. I have recommended them to several friends who have subsequently been so pleased with their care. We love how they treat our pets and us as part of their families. They are very well qualified, very professional, very caring vets. I would strongly encourage anyone in the area to consider them for their veterinary needs.
We have been taking our cats to Olde Town Animal Medical Center for the past four years. Dr. Muench and Dr. Abernathy have provided incredibly personalized and excellent care for our geriatric cats. Our cats have chronic illnesses, and the vets have gone above and beyond to find solutions to manage their health and maintain a good quality of life. We have greatly appreciated their membership plan, as we do regular acupuncture for one of our cats to help manage her arthritis pain. Our cats used to be terrified to go to the vet before we found Olde Town Animal Medical Center, and now they are relaxed in the car on the way there and during their exams and treatment. I highly recommend this veterinary practice.
My family has been going to Dr. Muench for veterinary care for about 8 years now for both our cat and our dog who passed away. This is a very unique vet clinic, from my experience, because it is small (2 doctors, 2-3 techs, receptionist) and very comfortable to be in. Larger clinics are often impersonal and hit or miss as far as staff goes. At Olde Towne, though, Dr. Muench and Dr. Abernathy and their staff know us and many other clients and their animals on a first name basis. This personal level of care increases the amount of understanding on both sides. The doctors are able to quickly recall the medical history of my cat every time we bring him, which makes the appointment go more quickly. From a client's perspective, I genuinely feel like the doctors always present to us every available option, including such important variables like cost and convenience. For example, certain drugs come in various forms (liquid, tablet, etc.) and they take into consideration what is most comfortable for the particular animal. The techs and receptionists are always very friendly and competent. When our family dog went into congestive heart failure, it was very difficult to deal with. She had frequent seizures and many medications to take, but we were given clear instructions and a realistic outlook on the progression of the disease. This made it much easier to maximize her quality of life and then, eventually, have her put down. Dr. Muench has an extremely calm demeanor as well, which makes everything that much less stressful for the owner and animal. Her breadth and depth of experience is evident during every appointment; she doesn't even mind answering questions of pure curiosity! These are true professionals and loving people. Highly recommended.
I honestly can't imagine getting worse care or service anywhere. I took my dog in 11 days ago when I noticed he had blood in his urine. The staff was very friendly but slow as molasses. We determined he had a prostate infection and put him on antibiotics. I was told they were sending his urine to be tested further and would call as soon as the results were back. I paid close to $400 and got 5 tablets of antibiotics. No one ever called and of course we ran out of antibiotics. I called twice on Saturday no one answered, I went there, not open even though it says they open at 8:30am ugh! We called again on Monday and were told oh sorry the vet we worked with was "out" and they were sorry. I got more antibiotics and was told to bring another urine sample in on Friday. I took it in this morning and again was told they would call me today with the results. No one called again so I called at 4:00pm and was told the test results were back and the doctor just hadn't had a chance to look at them yet and she would call me back ASAP. No one called again and here I sit worrying about my dog and having to go and spend money to take him somewhere else. I would NEVER recommend wasting your time and money on this place. I pray their lack of attention doesn't cost my pet his life!
