I just moved from California with my two great danes and three cats. Was worried about finding a vet that I felt comfortable with and from the moment I first called felt good about Alta Vista Animal Hospital and once I arrived knew I had made a good decision. Very caring and competent and my nervous Dane Tinker Belle liked them as well .

I moved here 3.5 years ago with my 11 year old beagles. I was incredibly fortunate to have selected Alta Vista Animal Hospital for the care of my beloved dogs. Molly would pull me towards the door (although Sam wanted to check out all the other dog "calling cards" first). There, she was quite the nuisance, insisting that she get a cookie, and Sam singing in his big beagle voice, "Foooooooood!" Staff would say, "Shaw kids are here..." From Mary, Amanda, and Cheryl greeting us to the kind, caring compassion of Karen, Heidi, Alicia, Eric, and Bryan, my lovies were always at home at Alta Vista. I cannot say enough about the staff, and how absolutely wonderful they are. Five stars is certainly not enough for the quality that the techs have provided. Dr. Rene acquired Alta Vista about 3 years ago. I am so fortunate that she chose Montrose! My dogs always received exceptional care, compassion guided by intelligence and knowledge. Sam was diagnosed with lymphoma 19 months ago, and Molly with a lung tumor 14 months ago. They were successfully treated, Sam on and off chemo throughout those intervening months, and Molly with a very invasive and successful surgery at CSU, upon Dr. Rene's advise. They begin having additional age related issues, and Dr. Rene always came up with solutions to not only treat my dogs, but with the focus on quality of life. Without Dr. Rene and the caring and compassionate staff at Alta Vista, my dogs would not have had so many addition months that I could cherish and love them. I will always be indebted to Alta Vista. We were traveling on vacation and our poodle developed ear issues. We walked into the Alta Vista Animal Hospital without an appointment and were seen immediately. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent with dogs. If we lived here, this would be our vet!
