Banfield is a joke. Dr. Katz and his team are unfriendly, inexperienced, & continue to push antibiotics and other medications that are complete overkill. It's truly sad to see a money hungry veterinarian so close to such a progress and open minded part of the world. I understand we all have bills to pay but I can only imagine that the majority of those are taken care of seeing as he runs the practice. Dr. Katz uses scare tactics to push $100s worth of pills and cream. A simple google search revealed that my bulldog did not need to have his tail removed, that a little bit of witch hazel from Walgreens would do the trick. Unbelievable and truly sad.

I am so lucky to have found Banfield and Dr Katz. His staff is professional and always puts me at ease while giving my many animals excellent veterninary care. I had two cats under their maintenance plan. Unfortunately, the kind of labs and diagnostics that older cats need is not part of the plans that are available for cats the age of mine. So, there was an additional charge to get those tests done. I could have had those done for less than the cost the annual charge for the maintenance plan, so review carefully what kinds of things are covered under their maintenance plan versus the kinds of things your pet may need for the coming year. I will say that I did come out even when one of my cats was able to be protected under the plan for dental cleaning. But it wasn't a savings. But....And it's a Big But....One of my cats was diagnosed by their vet as having CRF, and needing SQ fluids ($27 for a month) and the special Prescription Kidney Food, which costs a bundle. So, I got a second opinion. I got suspicious as one of the diagnostic tools their vet used to argue for her being ill with CRF was the fact that she had lost weight. Not only had they not weighed her that day, but she had not lost any weight. Two years later after that bad news from Banfield's vet, my cat has normal kidney values, Thanks for thae second opinion, I did not fall for the expensive kidney food nor the SQ fluid ordeal for my cat. I felt like it was a scam to inconvenience my cat for their profit.

I would strongly recommend you NOT take your pets to the Superior Banfield clinic. While the staff appears nice and caring towards your pets, they find every opportunity to do blood work and different test even if they don't relate to your pets condition. They overcharge every chance they get and at the end of the day you walk out with no answers or solutions to your pets illness, just a very large bill.

Banfield Stapleton is fine for very basic needs like shots. But I would not bring my pet there for anything else. For something advanced or problematic that is affecting your pet, I would suggest going somewhere else. The veterinarians are not as experience as you may need or wish. We learned this the hard way - now I will not even consider taking my dog there for shots.
