I've been a client at MAH for over 20 years, and wouldn't consider another vet! The service is outstanding, the prices are reasonable and the staff is top-notch. They go out of their way to support local rescue groups, but do it quietly and without publicity. It's all about the animals! I trust them completely and have seen them go out of their way over and over for their clients.

Very polite and kind staff, VERY BUSY PRACTICE, Doctor kept us waiting almost an hour and then could only spend 10 minutes explaining surgery options while being interrupted by staff for other matters. They are inexpensive and if that is a priority they are probably a good practice for you. You get what you pay for...my pets are like my children and I am willing to pay a little more to get the attention I need.

I went to Dr J looking for rehab for my disabled newly adopted Rottie, Dalila. The outcome was horrible. Dr J did not mislead me. He was wonderfully compassionate, friendly and treated me with the utmost respect, sharing all the tests results and explaining them. While he is too far for my everyday vet needs. You can bet I am highly recommending him to all my friends in the area. And I now have a new resource for my abused and neglected animal needs.

I have cats and a dog and have been to 8-10 vets in my adult life (many interstate moves). This is a wonderful office! The vets are clinically excellent, very calm, and very willing to explain things to us. They provide great care to my cats and dog. The front office staff are friendly and helpful, and everyone in the place clearly loves animals. There are several vets closer to me than Meriden but I am happy to spend more time in the car to see these docs.

I don't normally go to this vet, but they have a groomer so I read the reviews and decided I would give it a chance. I was very specific in my directions (I did not want my dog shaved, just the top coat trimmed off). My dog came out with a shaggy uneven shave. The hair on his head and tail were left long. The right side is much longer than the left side. I do not recommend you use the groomer. The groomer charged me $65 for my 90 pound dog, I felt like her price was very reasonable. Too bad her services were so poor! I had the vet look at my dog's eyes as they have appeared pinkish and gooey at times. It cost me $40 just to have him look at them and the eye drop medication cost $20 for a very small amount. My prescriptions are cheaper! The staff is very friendly, but the cost are over the top. I will not be doing business with this vet again!
