We brought our 8 y/o lab in at 12midnight after he cut his leg open on a rock. I was concerned with the possible cost, but they clean it up, 3 stiches, and a weeks supple of a prescription to antibiotic. The doc was professional and knowledgeable. I didn't feel like they were trying to "rip me off" I thought $290 was reasonable for a 12 midnight emergency visit.
What ever five star reviews for this so called emergency room have to be from staff. No one in there right mind would give these crooks a five star review. They have NO morals or values, they are as unethical as they come. They prey on the emotionally distraught. They pad bills like its the right thing too do. There so called vets are NOT qualified too be near any ones pet. Everything your seeing in the one star reviews are correct. Do your self a favor and stay away from this place. You will not only have to remortgage your home after your visit, you might have have your dog misdiognosed . And if that's not enough they will make sure they will be as rude as they could be, through the whole process. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
A few days ago my friend and I took a very sick cat to the VCA Shoreline Veterinary Hospital. When we arrived both the nurses and vet were very helpful and accommodating. With the vet's opinion the cat was euthanized. After putting the cat down, we were told to wait in the lobby, which we did for about 10 minutes. When our name was called we went up to pay the bill. It cost about $140 just for the cat to be looked at, and then another $160 for the cat to be put down, however the hospital messed up the bill and tried to charge us an extra $400 which was sorted out at the hospital before we left, or so I thought. Two days after visiting the hospital, I got an email from the VCA Shoreline Veterinary Hospital trying to charge me an extra $215 on a test that both the vet and nurses said that I would not have to pay for. I then called the hospital to talk to a manager to try and sort out the problem. When I finally got on the phone with someone, they were extremely rude and not helpful. I did not appreciate being told one thing by multiple people of the staff and then getting a bill by email two days later. I will never take another animal to this hospital, the managing staff and the way the hospital was run seemed completely unprofessional and obviously there is a lack of communication between the staff and the management.
This ER is probably the worse place you can take your friend animal to. The service is horrible, they will milk you for your last breath and have no bedside manners what so EVER, The options they give you is kill or operate for 10 grand. but when you just cant afford any of it they will give you a third option only after you decide to take pet home, which was NEVER EVER ONCE MENTIONED before.try to refill a prescription that you call in at 11 AM and speak with a person who pulls file up etc 6 hrs later it is still not ready blaming it on place is very busy. Parking lot empty, waiting room empty... just sitting there for an hour waiting... alone YET they are very busy. Drive to Norwalk CT but do not go to this place. Doctors and staff is horrible. my dog was paralyzed from neck down and I am trying to hold him and walk to the bathroom because he is urinating and pooping on himself I asked the lady behind the desk if she could open the door because my hand was wet and could not open it, was sliding, her excuse was, I CANNOT LEAVE THE DESK .. SORRY. 10 feet away.
I have been here several times for different occasions. Most recently my small dog needed to be treated for a fall. He was taken in to be examined as soon as I walked in the door. After his exam he was returned to my arms while we waited to speak with the vet. The staff acknowledged us every time they walked past with a big smile on their face assuring us the vet would be with us soon and apologizing for the wait (they got hit with a lot of emergencies all at once and needed to treat them in order of severity, which is completely understandable) this i!s my choice for emergencies every time. Everyone is wonderful here. My bill was much less than anticipated (never did i expect to pay less than 200 dollars for an emergency.) The location is convenient, the facility is clean and the staff is great.
