Excellent care given to my cat today and terrific customer service. I didn't have a vet here in DC but now I do! The staff was so caring and Dr Hassell was sensible about options for my Isobels care [she's a little old lady].....special shout out to Jessica for listening patiently as I blathered on in panic because my cat was sick! Great experience and about what I expected to pay for her care. I will def bring her back.

My two dogs have been to many a vet, all over the country, and Drs. Hassell and Polk are among the best. From seeing the dogs on short notice to thoroughly explaining everything they find, I always leave feeling as though my dogs actually have a health advocate. On top of all of this, the technicians, assistants, and administrative staff are friendly and accommodating. They even do most of the legwork with pet insurance claims. VCA McArthur is truly a neighborhood vet.

I was a bit worried bringing my cat here at first cause of the low scoring they got but once i got here I was immanently proven wrong. The vet assistance were extremely nice and welcoming. Dr. Polk was AMAZING! Dr. Polk is new to VCA's staff and he is the perfect fit. They understood my financial issues and worked with me on what shots I needed to get and what I could wait on for later. They gave me so much info that I left txting my friends random facts I learned there. I am defiantly bringing my other animals there once I have the money. Just wish they were cheaper..

This used to be a nice place due to Dr. Morris, who was wonderful. VCA let him go and now there is no one to curb the excessive, expensive, and sometimes painful unneccessary procedures VCA insists on doing to the pets there. Dr. Morris did what he thought was right, he had integrity. But he's gone now. He was the only reason many people continued there after VCA bought the practice.

The care provided was fine, but the vet and staff tried to sell me on expensive tests unnecessary for a healthy cat. After the visit, I received numerous post cards stating that my cat was "due" for the treatments I had declined, and was sent a 6-month "Check-up" notice for my 2 year old cat. For those who are not aware, the standard is a YEARLY visit for cats under 7 years of age. They are quite obviously in the money making business, so be prepared if you visit.
