My family and I are new to the Pike Creek area and we asked a few friends where would be a good place to go to take our pets. Pike Creek Animal Hospital was mentioned several times. We were able to get an appointment there quickly. On Monday, June 10th I took my beloved 17 year old cat to the Hospital. He had been losing weight for several months and having some other issues that are common with a cat of his age. We had a very short time in the waiting room then got right in with the tech. She was very pleasant and we gave her all info about the cat’s condition and history. The veterinarian, Dr. Cumpstone came in shortly after. She was able to easily diagnose that my cat had a kidney that was greatly inflamed. Opposed to trying to upsell us on extensive tests and blood work, scans, etc., she allowed us to make a difficult decision with practical, honest, and sound advice. We then met with another technician that helped us with the rest of the visit. I wish I had her name but do not. She could not have been more caring or compassionate in this difficult situation. My best friends final procedure was taken care of quickly, easily and without pain. They took care of all my wishes and even gave me a final paw print along with my exit. The bill I received for this office visit was more than fair. I could not believe the wonderful treatment I received at this facility from people I have never met before. I know they must do this all the time but I truly felt their compassion. I have NEVER had an experience like this before that merited a review. I was going to write the above review anyway when yesterday afternoon I received a hand written letter of sympathy from Dr. Cumpstone. It goes without saying that I will bringing all my pets from now going forward to Pike Creek Animal Hospital. Many thanks to all of you.
Took my dog here for allergy problems and they seemed really nice but when he had 12 straight hours of vomiting and diarrhea due to the medicine they gave him, they were completely useless. I called twice and the receptionist kept ensuring me the vet was going to call me back but never did. Finally, I called one more time and they bluntly said she does not have time to call you, she is off for the rest of they day. And I should bring him in for an exam of I was really concerned. They just want to make money off of people and do not actually care about the animals. Dr. Q could of atleast returned my phone call to advise the situation, instead of having the receptionist play Doctor. Need less to say I'm never taking my dog back there. If you notice, their reviews are posted by them.
Pike Creek Animal Hospital has been professionally caring for my MANY dogs over the 15 year period I have lived in the area. The technicians (Kathy, Lea, Colleen, Monica, Cindy, Linda, Heidi, Becky, Tara, Angela, Tracy, et al) have always extended themselves way above and beyond in their thoughtfulness and kindness to all my pets. There has been VERY little technician turnover in all those years, if at all, so you know they are exceptionally knowledgeable and extremely organized. I cannot express the lengths they have gone through for the comfort of an ailing dog. I foster and rescue Greyhounds. They are often older, have racing injuries, or due to their propensity for cancer, they need constant veterinary care. So, my visits are exorbitant. Dr. Mckersie, Dr. Cumpstone, Dr. Richardson, Dr. Olsen, Dr. Quigley and Dr. Mann have proved to be invaluable with swift diagnosis, cutting edge procedures, humane care and benevolence even when you are being faced with the news that your beloved pet may not make it. I truly cannot imagine taking any one of my pets anywhere else. I do not hesitate to refer their services to the many pet owners I come in contact with.
PCAH has been caring for my dogs since Laura Richardson, DVM joined the practice as a partner, I would guess 30 years ago. I want to take this opportunity to thank the entire PCAH staff for the wonderful care that they have given my own personal dogs, the Seeing Eye puppies that I have had the honor to raise and all of the dogs and their owners that I have referred to the practice. I and my dogs have always been very sensitively and graciously cared for as well as having both routine and complex medical issues efficiently and successfully resolved. I continue to recommend this practice to my friends, even though it is not as close to my area as it might be to be more convenient. Thank you, Midge Leitch, VMD
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! This review is for the Pike Creek Animal Hospital! I do not know the names of the people who were in charge of the supposed care of my dog. It is in my oppinion that these people do not genuinely care about our pets! The staff is uncaring and unprofessional and in need of some serious retraining and possibly a less hectic schedual! It is my belief that the reason I was rushed through the first intial exam was due to overbooking of appointments that day and the overfilled waiting room (with two exam rooms full) was evidence of that! They took my dog back to get blood work done and brought her back to me limping and bloody! The blood was everywhere and it came from a known cyst on her tail that she had for several months and never EVER bled! It is again my oppinion that they lifted my dog to the table by her tail thus repturing the cyst...when the vet went to shave off some of the fur to see the cyst she took a huge gash out of the cyst...Im not saying she is the reason that the tail had to be removed, however I am saying they are careless! I told them that I didnt want her to have the cone that goes around her head...when I picked her up from surgery, sure enough she had that cone and they were sure to charge me for it! I removed it promptly and put it on the counter and requested a refund (which I got)! I inquired as to why her newly amputated tail was not bandaged and insisted that they take her back and bandage it for me to at least get her home, once at home I didnt care if it fell off! They looked at me as if I was asking for the moon, but did as I asked! Today she had to have stitches removed from her tail....When the Vet came out to get my dog, she literally wanted to drag her by her neck, across the floor with her leash and collar while my dog was in a sitting postion (this was the VET)!!!I My dog was trying to get out of the collar and it was like a tug of war!! I grabbed the leash and told her DONT PULL HER LIKE THAT BY THE NECK....I sat down, calmed my dog down (there were several HUGE dogs in the waiting area and my little corgi was scared) and I walked my own dog back to the office door *she had to go to the back to have stitches removed so I couldnt go with her which upset me because I dont trust what they will do to my dog behind my back...if they treat her like that in front of my face! Staff seems agitated that they have to help you made me feel like I was a bother or a hinderence!!! NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!
