I have been taking my dog and cat here since 2010 and have always had superb service. The vets are knowledgeable, thorough, and take their time to talk to you. I've never felt rushed or like my questions weren't welcomed. The cost savings of having a Wellness Plan is incredible. My pets have never been so well taken care of at such an affordable price. They are very busy since they have their scheduled appointment patients as well as walk-ins to see, so you may have a bit of a wait especially if an urgent case comes in. If you can't wait you can drop your pet off there for free and pick her up before closing time. The office staff and vet techs are also very professional and amazingly are always pleasant even with a crushing schedule and cranky clients. I'm not sure why there are so many low ratings since in almost four years of going there regularly I have not had one complaint. I recommend them highly and several of my friends take their pets there now and also love it. The Wellness Plan is well worth the money and if you have a pet and worry about budgeting vet care, you can't afford to not get the plan. I volunteer for a rescue group and most of our dogs' basic medical needs were neglected because their owners couldn't afford monthly heartworm preventatives, deworming, and vaccinations. The wellness plan makes these lifesaving treatments affordable and offers steep discounts on any other care your pet may need. I am a loyal Banfield client and give them a high recommendation.
Dr Robertson at Banfield misled me and my wife. I spoke with her for nearly an hour expressing concerns about the procedure and I was assured over and over by her that it was no worse than a spay procedure. Never once was I told that the type of procedure my dog received commonly goes bad, and we were never warned about anything. She and the company she works for put money over their patients, I would never take my animal back here, and we were 9 year patients. We feel we were misled and given bad information. Please pet owners do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before any operation on your animal. Banfield nearly killed my dog, which they sent home after a major Mass Cell Tumor removal. Our dog came home, and after a few days the incisions came undone, I took her to the UF Vet Hospital and was told that she had a massive infection and the skin around the wound was dying. Our pet was sent home after having the procedure performed that day, the Vet we saw at UF in the emergency room told us she should of had a drain installed for the wound, which numbered in the area of 20-30 stitches, and she should have been kept overnight at the least, and a few days at best. Upon hindsight the skin was always red around the wound, and there was a dark area near her armpit, which is conveniently where the only wrapping was placed on our animal. The skin that was dark from the time we got her was dead, we were informed. Luckily she is now in the best hands in the area, at the animal hospital, where she underwent a second surgery to have it done right, she will also be required to remain in critical care for the next few days to a week. The surgeon that performed the second surgery said there was a lot of infected tissue, and a good portion of the tissue died, and fell off as a result. After four surgeries and a week in the intensive care until to try to close a 7 inch wide by 12 inch long wound, we had to make the awfully hard decision to euthanize our beloved animal We will never, ever take any of our animals back to this chop shop. We recommend anyone who is considering this vet to NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL here. Your animal companion deserves better than what they will give. They are focused only on making money, which was evident in the way she was treated, how we were treated and even made fun of by the two vet techs for wanting pain medication for an animal that had an incision from under her arm almost down to her hind quarters. Please conduct due diligence and read all of the user reviews. This place is not a good place to bring your animal. Do the right thing and get the proper care they deserve.
Had my dog on one of their plan - Until my dog got sick - Was dropped immediately from the plan as they were interested in making as much money as possible from my sick pooch. My pooch didnt make it as cost were extremely high after plan was dropped and had to put her down. Stopped using them since then, They only care about getting your money. They dont care about your pet.
I brought my hamster here when she had an abscess. The first time, a vet dr. looked at her but she was not very skilled in rodents/exotics so she was unable to perform the full treatment required. She also prescribed an antibiotic that was too weak to cure the infection. That was a $80 visit. Several days later, the abscess returned and the vet dr. who did specialize in rodents performed on my hammy. She was able to perform the procedure properly compared to the other vet. Well, with the procedure along with NEW antibiotics and a very $$ probiotic, my bill was another $90.... Now my hamster is suffering from the same bacteria infection and her abscess has returned. I will not be coming here again as the treatments given are not thorough. This place tries to sell you as many meds as possible without giving alternatives.
I brought my dog here to get a simple heart worm check, rabies shot and to get flea medicine and our visit was very pleasant. The staff treated my dog like they would there own, they answered all my questions and we went over my bill and everything I was willing to pay before any treatment began. Overall I really liked this vet and I would visit again.
