I have been transitioning all my pets to Millhopper Vet and I have never looked back. You can make appointments online and they are open into the evening, so it's easy for me to take my pets in around my work schedule. They run a variety of discounts and specials that have helped me get my pets the care they need without breaking the bank. Their staff is extremely polite and attentive, and their vets are patient and kind beyond compare. Highly recommend.
The first issue I have is that from my time of arrival until the service began was some 30 minutes. I understand that as a new customer there is paper work to be completed (which could have been provided prior to my arrival and completed). The 30 minute wait was not over once I was called for service. After being placed in the room there was another 10 minute wait. In my world the purpose of scheduling an appointment is to have NO waiting time at all, especially when it is clear that there is a large amount of staff working. My second issue is the fact that I was not provided a quote PRIOR to my arrival like I had requested, this would have been simple to do as my email address was on file and a quote was generated for me once I was called for service, even though it was not correct. My Third issue was the fact that I was in an exam room yet my pet was taken to a back room to have the examination done. I find this odd. What is the point of an exam room if the pet is not examined in it? Additionally what is the level of assurance that the fees I paid for the examination were actually for an examination? My forth issue was the fact that the Dr was in the room less than 5 minutes and that she made a strong effort to guilt me into a sedated tooth cleaning while NOT providing any other options. I find it hard to believe that as DVM there is only one way to clean a pets teeth that would cost some $300 plus dollars. I am certain that there are other methods, which maybe less expensive. Finally I find it odd that there was no effort to include me in what types of treatments my pet was receiving, IE no real bedside manner or discussion of care. It was assumed that I knew what was taking place and that It had to be done in that manner.
I currently take my Yorkie and Labradoodle here for their shots. Every vet I've interacted with has been nice. They don't try to sell you product you don't need. My Yorkie had her teeth cleaned here and they did an excellent job. I've also had my bulldog put down. They make it a comfortable environment for you during the time of grieving. I highly recommend them for any type of service you need. And the prices are very good. They also send out quite a few coupons.
I went to Millhopper Veterinary Medical Center for a second opinion and I could not have been happier with the experience. Dr. Menard is very knowledgable and is genuinely amazing with animals. I've also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Harris and quite a few members of the staff, it's clear that they are all experienced and extremely friendly. Overall fantastic experience, competitive prices and excellent staff, would absolutely recommend.
Our 14-year old Brittany Spaniel is recovering nicely from successful surgery, and we are very impressed with the friendly and professional staff at MVMC. We brought Blue in for an evaluation and consultation at no charge. That contrasted with other veterinary offices that quoted from $60 to $150 for an initial office visit/examination. The type of surgery that Blue required would have cost more than twice as much as we were charged at MVMC, saving us nearly $400 for the surgery alone. It was great to be able to afford the care required for Blue at his age, and we felt that the veterinarians there were as concerned about his welfare as we were. The end result proved it. We and Blue are happy we found MVMC.
