I can't say enough about the wonderful care our dog, Tess received at Animal Specialty Hospital! We were going out of town for a family event and two days before we were leaving Tess woke up and could barely walk. We took her to our vet and she recommended taking Tess to Dr. Carnes at ASH. Dr. Carnes and Cesar were caring, compassionate professionals who took time to explain that Tess would need an MRI to determine if she was able to have surgery. Tess did have surgery for 2 herniated discs. Dr. Carnes called us prior to surgery and afterwards, not only did she explain what needed to be done but answered all of our questions in a way that was both caring and never rushed. Each day that Tess was in the hospital we were called and given updates, again we never felt rushed and always felt that Tess was so well cared for! Tess just had her two week post op visit and was greeted like an old friend by Cesar and Dr. Carnes. Tess is doing fantastic and we couldn't be happier or more thankful. I never would of thought I could have been comfortable leaving Tess under these circumstances but the amazing staff at ASH made it possible.
From the moment our family stepped into ASH we had a caring, devoted and informative staff. Our loving family dog of 17 yrs stayed in the hospital for a week and was under constant monitoring, feedings and rehabilitation. In those seven days we received email updates with photos, phone calls from personal staff members, daily calls from the Dr. Carnes and no questions asked visits as often as needed. It was a challenging week and half, but without the professional staff of ASH it would have been an even more daunting time in our lives. Thank you for the wonderful love and care for our beloved Zoebo.
I can't begin to say enough wonderful things about ASH! my 2 corgis have been to ASH both as a referral (shoulder problem), and also on emergency visits. the doctors, vet techs, and entire staff of associates are so kind and professional. the moment you walk in the door, ASH's level of care, and caring, is immediately evident. both my husband and I know that our "babies" are in the best of hands at ASH - we're so lucky to have them here in naples!
I am writing this review a month from everything because it has taken me this long to calm down. These doctors will KILL your dog. They solely responsible for killing my dog. I was referred there by my vet to have an MRI on my dog. When we arrived there with a 187lb dog that could not walk which they were aware of and came out with an small cart. I should of known what I was in for then. Too try to make this short. They had the ER dr evaluate my dog and then do a CXR without my consent and multple test without my consent and then after hrs of sitting in the waiting room (which we were supposed to be there for an MRI) we got put into a room where the ER dr came in to tell me that he needed to stay in ICU to be evaluated by the internal medicine dr and maybe the neurologists. My bill so far was over $600 by now. The next day we went to visit our dog and he was laying on the floor on a blanket with urine all over him. Our dog had to stay there for three days at $600 a day to get IV fluids because the internal medicine dr wasnt feeling well, they didnt feel he needed an MRI and the decided to do all these test on him that would take days to come back; After those three days and $4500 later, we were able to take our dog home, not doing any better than he was when we brought him in. He was diagnosed with IMPA and was put on steroids and an autoimmune suppresant. After 7 days like they said, my dog lost 35lbs and was not walking or bearing weight. We then called down there to talk to that dr and she was unavailable just like every other day (by the way when we did briefly talk to her, all she talked about was how much everything was going to be and we had to sign adjustment after adjustment). She wanted us to bring him down there which was over 45 min away again so he can be looked at, BUT she wouldnt do it, the ER dr would and consult with her the next day and then they would let us know what to do. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG/PET THERE! I got so fed up that I took him to another specialist in Estero and he was misdiagnosed and we were doing exactly the opposite than what we needed to do and by then our up to three weeks ago absolutely beautiful, healthy dog that was our child, was too far gone to be saved. So thankyou to ASH and the very over paid useless "specialists" they employ there for killing my baby!!!!!!
My son brought Biggs in with a gun shot wound to the face! The wonderful, and talented staff saved Biggs life! We will be forever thankful! Biggs is such a special dog! Thanks to all of you! Biggs has brought so much joy to all of our lives! He has such a fan club! As so do all of you!
