I want the best care for my two dogs, Pugs. When researching vets, I found there are a lot of them in Naples, one in each strip mall. So I asked my vet up north how to sort through them and find a good one. He said, see who is AHAA approved. This is third party auditing program to assure high standards. Well, then the choice was obvious. On my many trips now to Gulfshore Animal Hospital, I have not been disappointed. My dogs have had severe allergy, ear & occasional hip problems. The doctors use good diagnostic tools to sleuth out the base problem and find a remedy. Their staff does good follow up with call afterwards to see if my dog is mending. They listen to you to confirm diagnosis. My vet up north send me emails regularly, who is that vet you use, I have another client moving south. I continue to recommend Gulfshore. They also give resident discounts with the RCC card.

When I moved to Naples, I wanted a vet clinic for my animals which was like the one I'd used up north. Gulfshore came the closest to what I was looking for in an all-encompassing clinic combining the seasoned expertise of the doctors with the latest information available on veterinary techniques/technology. Not only are the doctors and staff knowledgeable, but their friendliness puts one at ease and the place has a warm feeling to it. I would recommend Gulfshore to anyone looking for an excellent place to take their pets.

I've taken my cats to many different clinics in town, lower cost ones and the super high cost ones (specialists). I find GSAH is a little above average in per-visit cost, but always lower in overall costs. I think that's because they prefer to do a really good diagnosis before they start treatment. I'm definitely OK with that because then my pet gets better sooner and I only have to make one visit (overall cost) instead of coming back time after time to solve the same problem. The fact that they have the same staff for many years tells me they pay ok and treat their staff well enough for them to stay. The benefit of that is that a skilled staff keeps things moving along, can answer questions and solve other problems quickly. That makes for great customer service and fewer screwups in billing, scheduling, records, pharmacy. I know because I have worked in two veterinary clinics in other areas. I also appreciate the fact that I was NEVER turned away when I had a pet emergency. Finally, I have learned to trust my veterinary doctors there. They treat every case I bring them as unique and don't just assume anything. I also like the way they don't try to upsell me with teeth whitening or funky shampoos for my pets or unnecessary procedures as I hear goes on elsewhere. This is not to say that there are not other very good vet clinics in town. There are. But I really like this place and its people for my cats' care.

I know I can always rely on the staff of Gulfshore Animal Hospital! Thanks to Dr. Schemmer, I have always left feeling like my dog has been treated with the best possible care. I am always greeted with a smile and my dog is always treated with care and concern, as if she was their own. My dog is never advised to undergo uneccesary treatments or medications. Dr. Schemmer usually follows a more easy and conservative approach before more intense measure are taken. She offers natural remedies to issues before treating them with medications. I always feel like I am listened to and never rushed through a visit. I appreciate the follow up calls to check on my pet. Even if I tend to worry, my concerns are always treated with respect and equal concern. I feel as though my pet is truly cared for and I am made to feel like we are a priority when we visit.
