Horrible experience! I took my 2 healthy rats in to be neutered one died within 48 hours after the neuter and the other ended up with a botched neuter and an abscess. I asked for after surgery pain killers and was told no, they said rats don't need pain killers, which is a lie! when I picked up my rats they were filthy and very stressed out. I took my surviving rat in for a follow up and the vet acted like she was scared of him. I would never take another one of my pets here, nor would I recommend any to take their beloved pet here!

This was my vet for 8 years, until recently. I took my daughter's cat in because he was howling in pain the day before. I told the vet that I have a max of $150 for his condition, because I had just spent $700 at the very same vet two years ago for an obstructed bowel. They told me the cat had a blocked urinary track and the bill would be $530 for that day (not including the time he needed to spend boarded up there supervised). I told them he had a good life, but it was probably time for him to be euthanized and that's probably what I would have to do, but I would have to speak with my wife first. They told me to just give them the $150 I could afford, sign my rights over to the cat, and they would take care of it. ?? I told them, no, I am coming for my cat. By the time I got there thirty minutes later, they had performed the $530 surgery, without my permission, and told me I could pay the bill or give them $150 and they would keep the cat. My wife eventually got the cat back a week later, for the cost of materials. They called me the other day and asked if I got the "special diet" they prescribed for the the cat. I told them that I didn't get that but something equivalent. Today I got a notice on my door about the same cat from the Santa Rosa County Animal Services Department and that I was in violation for not feeding him this "special diet", as per the call from St. Francis Vet Clinic. I have a new vet now.

Horrible experience, DO NOT take your animal here! I took my dog here to see the vet because she had been sick (vomiting and blood in her stool). They determined that nothing was wrong and I just needed to change her food (they did not run any tests simply watched her for the day and said she was fine). A few days later I had to leave town for a week so I boarded my dog here. They knew she had been sick so I thought she would be better off boarded at the vets office so they could monitor her instead of having a friend watch her. I signed a form giving them permission to treat her while I was gone if necessary and they said they would call if anything were to happen. When I picked her up she was lethargic, would not eat, and was severely dehydrated. They told me when I picked her up she had gotten sick several times while I was gone, no one even call me to let me know my dog was still sick! Come to find out all they did was take away her food and give her K-Pectin. The day after I picked her up I had to take her to a different vet to have several tests done and they had to administer an IV to bring her electrolyte levels back to normal. I can't believe the people at St Francis are allowed to take care of animals!!
