STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY from Dr. Don and Dr. Mike. They are also practicing on Laurel Rd at the new Publix Plaza Venezia, under the name Veterinary Clinic. They both made a major error with my kitty. I had them do a blood test because she seemed lethargic and had lost weight. Well, the blood test shows an elevated white blood count on the blood test and it is even HIGHLIGHTED ON THE REPORT AS NOT BEING IN THE NORMAL RANGE but they failed to mention that. They said she had kidney failure and to feed her rabbit food and Omega 3 fish oil tablet. When I told him that we had always gave our other cats fluids when they had kidney failure, his reply was to try it for a month and then we would do another blood test and if her levels went up I could give her fluids. So, I fed her the rabbit food and Omega 3 tablets and had her rechecked in another month. Her kidney values got so much worse but again THEY FAILED TO MENTION HER ELEVATED WHITE BLOOD COUNT. I told him that our other cats with kidney failure never declined so quickly and had such a difference in results in one month but I was brushed off. I then started feeling uncomfortable, so I drove over to their office to get the fluids and asked for a copy of her blood test results. I then called a neighbor (we are fairly new to the area) and got a recommendation for another vet, scanned the results and emailed it to him and he called immediately telling me that she either had an infection or possibly cancer because of her very high white blood count. He got me in immediately and she had a severe kidney infection, obviously made much worse by the month between blood tests. She was then put on antibiotics for her infection but unfortunately we had to put her to sleep soon after this. I blame these two vets for the shortening of the life of an otherwise healthy cat and also the suffering she went through because of their incompetence.

OUTstanding!!! I can't believe nobody's provided a review for Doctors Don and Mike. Talk about COMPASSIONATE doctors. Not only are they insanely compassionate but they're approachable, down to Earth, high professional, friendly, and AFFORDABLE. Doctors Don and Mike went FAR out of their ways (in several regards) to see to it that my pet was tended to even AFTER HOURS. NEVER go a vet clinic or hospital again; these guys work right out of their vans and have considerable experience caring for animals so have no fear. I can't say enough good things about these doctors. Truly gems.
