I came in at 6:00 in the AM with our Flat Coated Retriever who ate a ton of sand. She was throwing up and we feared for a life threatening blockage. Despite a skeleton staff and two major surgeries with other dogs, the assistants and vet were outstanding. Within about 15 or 20 minutes we had x-rays and a diagnosis. They certainly went to extra mile to help me understand what our dog was going through, what her outlook was, and how the treatment would work. All in all, a great organization.
My daughter's 7-year old dog was suddenly having problems breathing. Early in the evening, it was minor, as long as he was laying down, he seemed fine. I decided I would miss work and take him to the vet the next day. However, by 1:30 am, he was having serious problems, so my son and I got him in the car, and rushed him and hour's drive to this clinic. When we got there, someone came out to meet us, grabbed up this 90 lb. dog, and ran him back inside to the back. I was relieved, thinking they were going to help us. At the front window, the attendant gave me a form, and pointed out the minimum $400 to $500 payment. I told her it wasn't a problem, I had some cash that my daughter had given me, and my paycheck would be deposited by 7:30 that morning. She took me to a room, where I finished filling out the form, and gave it back. After about an hour or so, the vet came in and told me that our dog's larynx was unable to open and it would be a $2000 to $3000 surgery, once the specialists came in. I was floored, but I was ready to do whatever we could. As soon as I asked about possible payment arrangements, she became hard with me, and let me know that if we didn't have the money now, we needed to euthanize him now. She said she would have someone come speak with me with a current quote for their services. She walked out, and a few minutes later an attendant came in with the quote. I was told that if I did not have the money to pay, right now, the $360 bill to continue treating our dog until the specialists come in, then I needed to pay as much as I could, and sign a promissory note, that would cover the $280 bill for services up to now, and euthanize my daughter's dog. I couldn't believe it, I tried to explain that I would remain there, at the clinic until my paycheck posted, in 4 hours, and they would get their money, I begged them to please just give me that 4 hours. The attendant left, and came back, saying that if I didn't have the money, right now, I needed to euthanize the dog and give them what I had, along with the promissory note. After agonizing over the decision, I finally realized that I was being forced to euthanize our pet, and their concern was not for my pet, it was for my money, or lack thereof. In truth, I had no choice, I had to sign that hateful paper and have my daughter's baby killed, because I didn't have enough money, right at that moment. It didn't matter that, in four hours, I would be able to give them their money, they only cared about right now. I will never again visit their clinic, I will not recommend their clinic, and I will leave this review on as many sites as I can. "All this is gold does not glitter..." They have a nice looking establishment, clean and well-lit, but if they can't help your animals to live, then I'm not sure what to say.
I would not recommend anyone that has a "hunting dog" to take there dogs to this clinic for "hunting type injuries" I had a dog get seriously cut by a hog (no details) just really bad over the weekend and brought him in to get fixed up. Now he was in bad shape no doubt but he was coherent and had the will to live, upon arrival the vet took maybe 5 minutes (and I'm giving her a few I think) and then she walked out to me and the first words I heard were $2,000 minimum and no guarantee. The next words I heard were "what do you want us to do? And we'll give you a minute to think about it" Now first of all if I wasn't expecting to spend some money I wouldn't have drove 2 1/2 hours to get there, second of all if I thought for a second that he wouldn't be able to recover I wouldn't have carried his 60 lbs. butt out of one of the worst swamps in Florida I've ever been in. So of course not having 2 grand in my pocket at 5:30 in the morning just for them to look at him I was forced to decide (1) have him put to sleep or (2) walk out with him as is and pay an $88 visitation fee for 5 minutes of nothing and hope to find a vet that knew how to handle his injuries. I wish today that I had chosen the 2nd option and taken him with me, regardless of the outcome. Now I'm not saying he wasn't in bad shape but it was the manner in which it was presented, pay now or get out kind of attitude. The young ladies that brought him out to my truck after it was all said and done were polite I should say, but it all just seemed a bit un-caring. This clinic may be suited for puppy berthing or a dog with allergies but for a dog with serious injuries, I honestly don't think these young ladies have the stomach for it. Sorry. But that's just how it came across, we'll spit out some ridiculous amount of money so the person is faced to make a hasty decision not based upon reality or what's best for the animal but "money" I hate that things went the way they did with my experience but they did. And I hope people continue to take Fee Fee or Fido the lab down for there check ups, but boys and girls don't take an animal that is seriously hurt to this place.
Drove from keystone heights with my dying kitty, who passed just 5 minutes from the ER. They rushed her right in, checked for heart beat, cleaned her and readied an examroom for us to sit with her as long as needed. We had Paw Prints crematory meet us who handled the rest. Molly was handled excellently, including down to them closing the check-in door so I wouldn't have to see them carry her out in body bag. Wish hospital ERs would treat humans with same compassion and expedience.
We had to bring our beloved dog here on Labor Day to be put down. He had Cushings Disease, was on Chemo, and he could not eat, stand or breathe. The facilty was clean, the staff all pleasant, and the Vet was very compassionate. He put in a central line and sedated our baby, then returned him to us and gave us plenty of private time to love him and be with him before he administered a final dose of medication. Words cannot express how grateful we were for this kind, patient treatment. I would highly recommend this facility to all.
