When I initially found this place, I decided on it based on its distance from me and their being open until 6P. I was able to make an appointment quickly without hassle and was pretty impressed by their telephone etiquette. However, when I arrived and my kitten was seen by a doctor, I was spoken to with attitude by not only the nurses on duty, but also the veterinarian. They had my sign an invoice that was supposedly the cost of the first round of shots. While I was at the counter to pay, I was given an invoice for $50 more than the invoice I had originally signed. I was told the nurse mistakenly given me a quote for the wrong set of shots (Although they administered the correct first round, thank goodness) and proceeded to tell me I had to pay the second quote. I was firm in saying the first quote signed will be what I pay, and was told that since I was paying the less expensive first quote, they would not send the Feline Leukemia test out although it was on the first quote. The nurse who made the mistake had a horrible attitude and awful customer service skills. I will never return and hope those reading these reviews will realize this animal hospital is a waste of time, money and peace of mind.

You better cancel whatever you planned on doing for the day if you take your pet to this vet. I've been here about 4 times, and each time the visit lasted about 3 hours. The costs were always crazy expensive--I never spent less than $200-- and they always try to sell you unnecessary things. I stopped going to them about 2 years ago, but I still get email spam from them (even though I cancelled it), and phone calls asking me how my cat is doing (of course they are just trying to get me to come in for $80 for no reason at all). The staff is friendly though.

Wait time 20-30 minutes. Facility is fine. Staff nice (exception: see below). Value is poor. Heartworm order to 1-800PetMeds not approved by vet. Forced to pay their inflated prices. Pet needed dental surgery. Lannes said must pay cardiologist $350; heart murmur in 2004 (she heard nothing). Said wouldn't do surgery without it. Duprey put cat on antibiotics and said surgery could be done. WRITTEN estimate: "Actual total between $343.06 and $369.56." Plus feeding tube quote of "$40-50 but not more than $100" (Duprey). Gave ok based on this. Bill was $725.88, 75.3% higher than written quote. Discounted to $621 - 50% over. No complications took place during this surgery. I work at home - nobody attempted to reach me for approval. Sarah Jennings, office mgr said Too Bad, So Sad. Customers since 2002; spent thousands. Final straw; we left. Thank goodness we did. Wrong size feeding tube was inserted. Bandages too tight. New vet says 5 minutes to feed; it was taking 30+ minutes due to wrong size tube. Value poor. Care poor. Vet food 33% higher. Visits 25% higher than average. Written estimates mean nothing.

I have been using Alafaya animal hospital for over 4 years now, and i love the veterinarians there. But I've recently had to get some tests done on my dog that was going to be $160, with the medications it would have came out to almost $400, searched around and found four different clinics that could do it for $45-$90!! So I ended up taking my dog to the Aloma Jancy Animal Hospital, and the veterinarian checked my dog out and explained how she does not need the tests and that a simple ointment for $15 could fix the problem! And this most certainly was not the first time they have done something like this!

The staff was caring, but I got the sense the doctors weren't exactly capable enough for the cancer my dog had. They were not great, but not terrible either. I also felt as though I was being nickled-and-dimed. I would use them for routine stuff maybe (shots, yearly exams, etc), but for serious matters, I probably would not use them again.
