I took one of my dogs in routine for some stuff and it turned into a big $$$ deal. Another time I took one of my dogs in because he was feeling punky for a few days. Over the years all my dogs had similar symptoms like this one. I was given the scare tactic of the worst-case synario but told we’ll take smalls steps to get to the bottom of things. They needed to rule out certain things first. This was the same story I received with my first dog. After an overnight stay, many ex-rays, tests, pills, shots more ex-rays, my dog eventually was himself again. Just an upset stomach, yeah $2500.00 TO LET ME KNOW THAT HE MAY HAVE ATE SOMETHING BAD. Folks don’t be fooled by fancy flyers or emails you will receive; I’m never going back again.

Absolutely the worst experience I have EVER had at a veterinary clinic!!! If you can call Groves that! To start: We took our dog there to have a growth removed from his paw. He is a 10 yr old dog who like any other dog is very nervous at the vet. The Vet came in like a tornado! Very intense, high energy and loud which made our pup even more nervous. I suggested that before letting the vet take a look at him we let him calm down since he was 1,000 times more nervous now. The vet insisted that it was fine and to hand him the dog. My dog was so nervous he pee'd (which being 10 he never ever does) After looking at him for a few seconds he said " OK let me explain how we are going to do this." as he was explaining to me i had told him i had years in the vet industry and worked at many vet clinics so I understand all the lingo. He stopped numerous times and said, " Here let me dummy this down for you" or " Let me bring this down to your level" I was shocked at how belittling this man was being. I put it aside and we set up the surgery. Which was quoted to me at a price of $549 total for everything. After the surgery the total some how went from $549 to $965!!! I was appalled! They promised me someone would look into the fees and I would be credited back. That never happened! Also 3 days later we had to take him in for a bandage re-wrap... I was charged another $65!!! at this point I was livid! At this appointment I also made it a point to bring to the attention that now out dog is very itchy, he was fine before the surgery. The vet didn’t even look at him and said "Oh,maybe he's allergic to the meds we'll switch them" OK, so we switched them... he's still itchy. We take him back and address the issue again... vet says well, lets get his foot better then we will go further... mind you I was now charged with a fee of $54 for this follow up appointment. After another two weeks we have a follow up appointment, at this point our dog had such severe hair loss from all the itching. He was so itchy by this time that he had eaten all the hair from his legs and tail, so badly he actually made his tail raw and it began to bleed! I asked again for the vet to address the issue, he took a 5 second peek at his leg and said oh it's got to be allergies we will set u up an appointment for that. I was soooo beyond livid that I just went along with what he said knowing I was taking our dog to another vet. Now: Yesterday we went and saw the new vet, we had to have our dogs files faxed over to the new vet... normal thing. I called Groves 7 hours before the new vet appointment, they never faxed them over!!! While at the new vet the receptionist called for the files... 20 mins go by... no files still!!! I call again begging for the file and got the worst attitude ever! With them asking why we were taking him to another vet! I told the man because it was closer! The file was faxed over 15 mins later. The new Place: The vet came out did a complete look over and (like groves should have done) suggested a skin scrape. When the results came back our poor dog had gotten SARCOPTIC MANGE!!! This is only gotten in dogs from other contact to other dogs... our dogs are house dogs and they NEVER come in contact with any other dogs! So, put one and one together, He got it from Groves! I WILL NEVER EVER EVER!!!!! Suggest Groves to ANYONE!!!! They are the most UN-professional, rude, and uneducated veterinary clinic I have ever dealt with. And thanks to them now ALL 3 of our dogs have MANGE! ..... Did i mention that Sarcoptic Mange is also contagious with humans too?!!!

Groves veterinary clinic is first class. I have been looking for a new vet for a long time. Dr Groves was compassionate, professional, supportive and very understanding. I would not hesitate to refer anybody I know that is looking for veterinarian service to Groves.

I was visiting my parents and needed to see a Veterinarian for my 4 week old kitten. Dr. Groves saw me the same day I called and treated me as if I had been a long time patient. His care along with his staff's care was above & beyond! Wish that he could be my full time kitten Dr but it is a long drive from Ohio.
