I'm crazy about animals, and I spent more time researching veterinarians than I spent researching physicians when I chose my own doctor. My miniature poodle, Princess, is my best friend (I work from home, so we are together 24x7). I relocated here from Arizona, and Princess is although I've lived in Sebastian two years now, she is the only little being I really have out here - in short, she just means the world to me. Originally, I was going to take Princess to a larger clinic, that my neighbor recommended, the clinic of default in Sebastian, it's big and shiny with a variety of vets. However, after I'd made an appointment at this "other vet" (and if you live here, you likely know which clinic I'm talking about without me naming it) I scanned the web for the fourth time for reviews, and I read a horrible story about a daughter taking her elderly parent's dog to this "other" clinic. Well, in short the dog was suffering neck pain - it was taken to the larger vet clinic and they took it to the back of the office to x-ray it, broke the dog's neck while taking the x-ray, and they did not even TELL their customer that had brought the dog in. They sent her home with strong pain killers for the dog, even though the x-rays showed a broken neck, they lied to her about the x-ray results to protect the integrity - and I use that term obviously sarcastically of the business. She only discovered that they had broken the dog's neck when she eventually took him to another clinic for a second opinion when the dog continued in severe pain. Reading that review was enough for me to turn me from the "popular" clinic without a second thought, although since then I have read and heard stories of the place that were very negative (including an account from an employee of the place. Enter Dr. Eric Wilsnack and his wonderful assistants at Hometown Pet Care, where I ultimately took my little poodle. If you want a wonderful - informed, caring vet and an A+ experience all the way around, go to Hometown Pet Care. From the moment you walk in the door and are cheerfully greeted by the girl at the front desk to the moment you leave - you will be treated with care and respect, by people I have come to trust and depend on for my pup's care. Also, you will be doing business with people who ADORE and RESPECT animals - they put their care far above the "bottom line" so you won't walk out with empty pockets, but rather with an animal that has been carefully examined, and with all your questions answered and a plan for moving forward with whatever issue you came to them with in the first place. Really - I cannot thank them enough, and I would never go to another vet in Sebastian. Also, they offer boarding (I'm going out of town next week and I'd be using them for this myself if my little girl wasn't so spoiled - since I'll be out of town for a few days I need to bring her somewhere that offers "day care" too. Hometown Pet Care is definitely an accurate name for this business - you get that small town feel and you become friends with the people at this place. Also, not only is the vet a staple - you won't get a different vet taking care of your vet each time you come here as there is only one, and he's awesome - the Vet Tech and the girl that works at the front desk have worked at the same place, their entire careers, I believe, which shows you it's a great place. This is a wonderful Vet's office in Sebastian. The staff are so helpful and caring with each of my 6 small dogs. It is very important to me that my dogs are happy with a Vet's office and that they are... Eric is very professional and interacts with each one...the pups light up to see him....he has displayed with me a very caring personality as well as a very honest answer to any questions as well as issues. Wouldn't take them any where else...so grateful for Eric.....finally an awesome Vet's office I can rely on to take good care of my little fur babies. I do recommend this office for all your pet needs.

I just had a bad scare with my little dog Buddy. I took him to Hometown Pet Care in Sebastian ( his vet of 8 years). I have to say that Eric Wilsnack DMV and all his staff are the most honest and compassionate people I have ever met. They truly care about your pet first , not the $$$$$. So blessed to have Buddy in their care. ♥

This place saved my beloved cat Lily (Devon Rex.) She needed surgery, and he took amazing care of her, and it was serious. The girls in the office are amazing as well. I have so afraid, and was in absolute tears, and they made me feel so much better! They really spent time with me, to calm me down, and they sat with my little Lily after her surgery, while I was on the way back, to make sure that she was not scared or feeling alone, after such a traumatic occurrence. It was the best possible situation, in worst possible circumstance. I could not go anywhere else. It feels like home there, instead of some scary cold ascetic hospital. Go see Eric (Dr. Wilsnack,) and the girls, and you will be the next one leaving a positive review. They really deserve it! I am so relieved!!! Thanks for everything! Keith
