I truthfully believed that people became vets to help animals before I chose Banfield. Around 4 months, my Basset Hound Howie started to get floating pains in his shoulders and hips. I took to Banfield and they prescribed pain killers. They didn't work. After 2 week he was in so much pain he couldn't walk and refused to eat. I watched my 40lb puppy lose 10lbs off his frame. I explained to the vet that I believed it is Panosteitis, to which she quickly retorted (I will NEVER forget this) 'It is my professional opinion that Panosteitis, or growing pains, is not a real condition. I believe it is a break in his growth plate. If you do not pay the $400 for the x-ray to confirm, you are risking crippling your dog or worse,'. AT the time I was a very poor college student. Looking at my emaciated dog and being a first time dog owner, I about broke down. I consented. A few days later they called me and said all his x-rays look fine, but that 'we are not Basset experts so we need to send them off to a specialist for another $200'......I hung up the phone and never went back. I put Howie on bed rest and fed him cooked liver to get him to eat. He is now a healthy 5yo. Don't trust vets, especially Banfield

I have been going here for 3 years now and I love it! The staff is very caring and Dr. Ravi very nice and he really cares for my pets!

I am very unhappy with this location. My pets have been going to Banfield for years and I am now pulling them all from here! They do not care about the wellbeing of my pets only how much money they can squeeze out of me! They don't take care of the issue just give medicine as a temporary fix then make you pay to come back!

Very unhappy with the PetSmart Hotel!! I have two small, 12 year old dogs that need to be walked quite often. They assured me that they will be walked "whenever necessary" - meaning if they were standing at the door to their crate, they would be taken out. When i picked them up, they both got sick in the grass median outside the front of the store. They acted as if they had not gone for days. They also had urinated all over their bedding which is unsual. I went in later and asked to see the daily log and was totally dumbounded... they do not take the dogs outside, but instead use an indoor "alleviation" room. They noted that they only took my dogs out ONCE a day, and one dog did not go at all the time. So, instead, they held it in their cage until they had no choice. How do you train a dog to go outside and then keep it crated for so long that it has no choice but to mess on itself? I think it is total animal cruelty! And to pay a premium - over $100 a night for both dogs is ridiculous! I could have left them at home alone and they would have been better off. Isn't that the POINT of boarding? So that you can ensure that they will be taken care of? We will not be back, and i live in the neighborhood - so will be telling everyone i know about this experience. If you take your animals there, just know that they will be caged for long periods of time.

I took one of my chinese water dragons to the Banfield in New Tampa for an eye infection. The vet said she was in great health and told us just to wash her eyes out. She died 6 hours after later. I will never take another pet to them and I strongly warn anyone else who loves there pets to stay away.
