We were referred to Blue Pearl by our vet when our 8 year old lab was diagnosed with Cancer. Our dogs are our children, and we did everything the vets recommended. We went to Blue Pearl regularly for a couple of months and tried 3 different types of chemo. We found the doctors and staff to be cold and unfriendly at every visit. I would have hoped for some empathy especially in situations like these. When we saw our dog losing the pigmentation in his skin, we called our regular vet. She was incredible and opened her office on a Saturday afternoon to evaluate him. She recommended euthanasia and said that the chemo did not appear to be slowing the Cancer down at all. We wanted to check with our Oncologist at Blue Pearl first, so we called him. Not only was the receptionist rude and unsympathetic, but she seemed annoyed when I was crying on the phone. She said she would get a message to the doctor but did not want to page him on the weekend. She called us back later and said that the Oncologist said we should put our dog to sleep. HE DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE COURTESY TO CALL US HIMSELF. And no one from Blue Pearl, including the doctor, called after that to follow up or give condolences or anything. I will never go back and cannot understand how a place so heartless is so successful.

I was referred to Blue Pearl by my primary Vet for my Great Dane, Lincoln, who was experiencing unexplained pain. I was able to capture it on video and show it to them, at which point they told me I needed to get him right in to see a specialist. When I arrived at Blue Pearl, they already had all of my information and they were expecting me. I was seen by a nurse who took a comprehensive history. A short while later, Dr. Gicking came in and went through everything with me. He took the time to really listen and understand what was going on. He recommended a series of diagnostic studies, which I consented to. He called me as soon as he had a diagnosis, which was within about 2 hours of me leaving my baby there. This all took place around 5 pm. Dr. Gicking's shift ended at 6:00, but he waited for me to get back there at 7:00 pm so he could talk to me personally. He was so caring and so understanding. Once my dog was discharged, his follow up care was with my own Vet. Every step of the way, Dr. Gicking continued to consult with my Vet and was kept apprised of the progress. I love that he was working hand in hand with my Vet to get my baby better. The prices are quite high, so their services may be out of reach for some. To me, it was money well spent to have my baby better. Thank you for all you have done, Dr. Gicking.

After 1 year of care I am sitting down to write this. I agree with another reviewer that said "stop complaining about the cost." These are highly specialized vets and this is a business. Unfortunately we have spent close to $20000 on two animals this year but they received superb care. We are very fortunate we were able to do this although many people think all this treatment was absurd - what do they know - these are our babies. My cat Chloe had surgery Jan 9 2014 for an injection site sarcoma which is deadly and will eventually take her life. Dr Salas was wonderful - keeping us informed every step of the way. Dr Kane has managed her radiation and chemo. One year out she acts like a "normal" cat although I know the time will come when we will lose her. We have had one more year to love our Chloe. Then in July our boy Ian had a urinary blockage. We saw 2 other vets within 18 hours who could not find anything wrong and said he was not blocked. On a Tuesday morning we were fortunate that Dr Gicking was on duty. He diagnosed our cat immediately - he was in early renal failure. He quickly attended to him and Ian improved rapidly. He needed surgery and we were given the option of our vet doing it and told it would be more expensive at Blue Pearl. My husband opted for Blue Pearl - unfortunately he had to be readmitted for a 2 day stay. Today with the proper diet he is doing well. We are so grateful to Dr Gicking and would always hope he would be present if we had another emergency. I realize this type of care is "out of reach" for many however for me - you provide peace of mind knowing that you are there if needed. My husband and I thank you.

I was a bit hesitant to go here due to the recent negative reviews. But my cat had a urinary blockage and this could not wait. Luckily, they are open 24hrs, I called, spoke to the lady on staff and off I went after midnight. Staff was super friendly. Took my cat in immediately, then the Vet, Steven came out to discuss options. We decided on the least aggressive treatment to alleviate the blockage...and it worked. No surgery required, which was fantastic. He spent a long time discussing a variety of issues with me about my cat and advised on what to do for the future. Cost of the whole treatment was

We were referred to Blue Pearl by our regular vet. We saw Dr. Anthony Ishak today. This man has absolutely no interest in your animal. He was only worried about getting me a quote and my dog into a procedure. He is as cold as a dead fish. As soon as he spoke to me and touched my dog I knew we were not going to let them treat her in any way. The estimates for an ultrasound and biopsies $750-$1100! I said thank you but no, she 's a dog. The vet tech looked shocked I declined their treatment plan. There are better options out there. This place is a scam. Do your homework before going. I paid them $114 to piss me off. The office staff and vet techs are very nice women so they have that going for them. AVOID THIS PLACE!
