I woke up one day to find that an aggressive and feral cat had birthed a litter of kittens behind my shed. I had only had dogs all my life, and was not a cat person. However over time even though I couldnt always get near them because of their human hating mom (she is wildly independent, and after she eats my food, she always tries to rip my face off -thats never changing, i can tell). Anyway,6 months down the line one of the kittens looked like she had gotten pregnant. As much as had by then grown to love cats, I wasnt totally excited about the prospect of even more kittens running around more the house. Regardless, i prepared a little place for her to have her kittens. The day it seemed she was going to give birth, things didnt seem right. It was getting late, and impossible to get anyone to see her, and even my regular vet was closed by then. Luckily, this vet, who I had never been to, immediately noticed that this was a serious issue, when others thought it just the way the process of birth worked, told me to come over. When I walked into the office, the receptionist had been waiting for me. She was amazing/ She took one look at her, and immediately knew it was not normal. She quickly called the vet over, and that entire office went into immediate action. Although they worked like crazy, there was nothing that could have been done. In fact she was never pregnant at all, but had some strange rare condition that mimicked pregnancy to the untrained eye. I had never heard of that, until i read about it later that night. (Cats, ya know?). Anyway, from the receptionist to the techs, to the vet, they were amazing. I was prepared to pay for surgery or whatever it took, but they held my hand and told me that she never would have had a chance, even if she had been taken there weeks earlier. They didnt string me along like a certain place in Tampa surely would have. Even the guy who was next in line before i walked in, and made him wait another hour, was extremely kind-heated with the loss. Later i received a wonderful card thoughtfully signed by all of them, and i placed it on her resting place. Although I gave them 5 stars, i didnt exactly "love my experience" for obvious reasons. But I started that day somewhat excited about the new kitties id surely come to love, and instead ended up with a sweetheart of a kitty in a box. That office and its dedicated and loving staff, made that experience all the less bitter. And so, in that way, I did love it. God bless you all. JD Luis
I have used CCV for years. The fees they charge are astronomical compared to other local vet's, but I kept on going there. Today was the final straw. I called to find out what the charge would be to have my 60 pound 17yr old dog euthanized and I was told $325. It was such a slap in the face at this sad time for me. As a regular client, who has spent thousands of dollars there, you would think the fee would at least be competitive with other vets in the area. CCV was double the price!!! SHAME ON YOU Country Chase Veterinary!!!
Friendly staff. Vets are top notch. I started going here when I lived in Countryway. Now, I bypass at least 8 other veterinary offices on my 30 minute drive to get here from Clearwater but I've tried other vets and these are the best.
We have been taking our two dogs to this for Vet for over 7 years. Over the last couple of years we have seen constant turnover of Drs and general customer service deterioration. The final straw was today when we left a message Sunday asking for a call from the Vet because our dog injured her back couldn't walk. So we immediately started crate rest. I received no call back today. It took me calling back 4 times to speak to a receptionist who then said a Vet will call me back when they have a chance. The first 3 times I called I spent over 4 minutes on hold each time before giving up. Like most of people in the community we are moving our dogs down the road to a vet who responded immediately and in a courteous manner. All I wanted was a call back from our Vet to have a quick dialogue on how to proceed in terms of my dogs health and pain management. Very displeased, it shows a general lack of urgency, professionalism and compassion on Country Chase's part. Avoid this Vet, there are plenty of other options available in this area. Its now 5:53 PM, still no call back from Country Chase...
I have been through the loss of two cats with this office and most importantly Dr. Trekas. The whole staff is very good, but Dr Trekas is a really wonderful and compassionate person and vet. Dr Whitten was very nice as well. When I get new pets there isn't another place I would rather take them to.
