While the veterinary clinic is dedicated to the care of all personal pets, it is not the only service of the clinic. The primary mission of the vet clinic is to provide complete medical care for our pets. I am not happy with the treatment of my dog. at this practice. I left feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed. This is the second time he came back from boarding with cuts and scrapes, as well as a missing fang. It's not surprising why dogs develop a fear of visits to the veterinary clinic. I don't believe my dog social and physical needs were met while in the care at animal medical diagnostic center. I believe he probably spent overnight and most of the day locked up. Was there anyone at the clinic doing after hours monitoring? The staff did not exercise the same degree of humane care, skill and deligence in trearting my dog as is ordinarily used in the same or similiar circumstances by members of the veterinary medical profession. I have decided after 12 years of being a good member of the clinic to move on. i hope everyone reads this letter so they understand how poorly this clinic treated a memeber of my family.

I am very particular when it comes to taking my pets to the vet, as I'm sure most pet owners are. I have to make sure they are an AAHA hospital because from experience I have seen that they provide the best care to my animals. The Animal Medical Center is marvelous. The staff is all very knowledgeable and you can tell they are the best of the best. Dr. A is also a great vet and I will always take my pets to him.

After first moving to Valrico our dog, Roxy, had an emergency and we needed to find an animal hospital. Our neighbor told us about Dr. Antunano and we rushed Roxy to their office. They got us right in without hesitation and made sure everything was okay with her. They kept us informed the entire time and answered any questions we had, during such a stressful time they kept us calm. Roxy is fine thanks to Dr. Antunano and his staff and now she loves coming in for her check ups.

Money hungry and inept. Once you get past how nice everyone is (which they should be) and get down to the type of care provided you can really see the issues. I brought my cat in as he had gotten into a scrap with a neighbor cat and received a wound on his side which become infected. Upon having the exam, I was advised the only option to treat my pet was surgery. Very important, immediate, necessary and, you guessed it, expensive! Of course, I started to consider his recommendations as anyone would when consulting a professional. Then he said something which took me back. I asked if an antibiotic might have an impact. He said no, not an option as the wound doesn't have blood vessels in it and the medicine wouldn't reach the affected area. Now, I don't know much about medicine, but I do know white blood cells fight infections and to tell me that an infection inside the body cant be fought off because blood vessels don't reach it sounds like an attempt at misinformation to sway my decision. Either way, after quite a bit of reluctance the Dr. agreed to administer the medicine in lieu of surgery. ($550.00 less than surgery) Sure enough within 24hrs my cat was fully healed with no signs of infection and was back to running and terrorizing my other, older cat, as per usual. Granted, I understand pushing the $600.00 surgery option vs. the $50 antibiotic from a business perspective as you need to make money, but if its come to the point where you're making decisions based on business and not the care of your patients then you made some bad decisions along the way and need to close your doors. I find this to be morally reprehensible. Just think of the pain and suffering I saved my pet because I DIDN'T listen to the Dr...
