I'm new to the area and this place was highly recommended by a coworker. I called for an estimate for a dental cleaning for my dog and was told that they don't give surgery estimates over the phone. That should have been my first clue, but it sounded reasonable so I made an appointment. Upon entering it's very obvious to me that this place has seen better days. They have plastic lawn furniture in the lobby and a horrible brown and yellow diy painted doors! The vet examined my dog for 5 minutes and then I was given a $517 estimate for a basic cleaning and charged $43 for the "consultation"!! I was pissed. Having worked for a veterinarian in the past, I consider myself a pretty good judge of them and I know when I'm being ripped off. I have since called around and gotten several other estimates and found a few places that are much more reasonable. This place is a waste of time and money. I will not be back.

have recently retired and moved to Florida from NY. I worked in the veterinary profession for over 25 years. I was greeted at Ark by a friendly, and knowledgeable, support staff and I could not be more pleased with Dr. Maus. Good medicine is not matching scrubs, and fancy newsletters or the newest high tech machines. Good veterinary medicine is an attentive practioner who notices little naunces in your animal. Also a great Dr. addresses little problems before they become large (and expensive) issues. If you are looking for a hands-on, easy to talk to, knowledgable veterinarian, then Dr. Maus is what you are looking for.

$350 to spay my 4 month old cat? Are you kidding? Shame on me for not asking the price of the surgery before hand. I simply picked the vet closest to my house so there would be less travel time and stress on my cat. No wonder we have a pet population problem.
