My dog got fleas at a hotel we were staying at right down the road. We tried to give her a flea bath and everything but she was infected again in no time. I came home one evening and it had gotten so bad that she had pulled clumps of her fur out from scratching so hard and was bleeding. The next morning, I immediately took her to the Winter Park Veterinary Hospital as a walk-in. They were very nice about my walking in without an appointment and said the wait might be a little longer but they would get me in between appointments. Completely understandable. It was much faster than I thought it would be. I was in within 20 minutes or less. The vet's assistant was very sweet and took very good care of my puppy and was able to thoroughly answer all my questions. If she wasn't sure of something, she always double checked. The doctor was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable and I fell like my dog was in good hands. They prescribed all the right medications and we went ahead and got her yearly shots while we were at it. You could tell they really care about your pet's health. Within a day, my puppy stopped scratching and started healing. It was great! I just received a follow-up call from the doctor who was calling to give me the results of her blood tests (which were all normal) and my interaction with her made me feel like I should leave a quick review. If you have pet needs, do not hesitate to bring them to Winter Park Veterinary Hospital. Everyone I met there was professional and kind and I left feeling like my dog got the best care she could get.
Several weeks ago, my little Quaker parrot had to visit your offices. Although your reception area was quite busy on a Saturday morning, it was running efficiently as I only waited a few minutes before it was my turn to be waited on. I was immediately taken into the back waiting area and saw Dr. Hess shortly thereafter. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your assistance in making me feel that we were important and to help as quickly as possible that morning. All the staff at WPVH has been very nice and professional. Please let Mary know that it was such a relief to me knowing that she loves Quakers and that she oversaw my parrot while staying several nights at your facility. It was also nice to receive calls and updates from both Dr. Bellville and very sweet in hearing from Dr. Newman asking how my parrot was doing a week later after her release. My little parrot is recovering and squawking once again :) Again, it was truly appreciated the way you treated us upon arrival!
After having had many pets in the past, and therefore many vets in the past - I just have to say...WOW!! Courteous, respectful, kind - Organized, clean facility - efficient handling of everything - definitely caring and concerned. Clearly explained everything - answered all questions in detail and ensured I understood - treated our dog and I extremely well - Dr. Janosco and Meredith Gardner, and their assistant were wonderful - Entire Staff was stellar! I felt very comfortable, and am confident in the quality of care our dog received - a great experience overall. I am happy to have found these folks!! I highly recommend Winter Park Veterinary Hospital - they addressed all our concerns with respect and clarity - you and your pets will be treated very well. Thank you, WPVH!
I feel so guilty when I have to leave my little dog at a kennel, but sometimes I do not have a choice. My friends tell me I am cruel to her! When I picked up my Bichon after she had been at this beautiful kennel she cried. She stood at the window in the back and looked at the huge play grounds under the many mature trees and she actualy cried.I had let her have ´play time´ with other little dogs. She had had such a great time. Now I tell my friends not to make me feel bad. I want to be with my little dog all the time, but it is not always possible.
My parrot had an accident and was bleeding out. It was just after business hours and the avian vet on call at the emergency clinic was the one from Winter Park Animal Hospital. He refused to see my parrot because they were not her regular vet. My bird nearly died that night and nobody seemed to care. Luckily, she made it through the night and East Orange Animal Hospital took her in bright and early the next morning as an emergency visit.
