I like this clinic because it's quick and affordable. It is great to be able to walk in and tell THEM how things are going to go...no "office fee" just for stepping in the door and no appointments neccesary. I have been going to them for the past year and they take care of business and keep my lab healthy. As long as we live in the Des Moines area, I will continue to take my dog here.
Today I visited the Low Cost Spay Clinic in Des Moines, IA, on East 14th St. I regularly take my 3 pets these, paying over $1000 a year to this clinic. Today, however, I went to ask the vet a question about a certain medicine. I was soon called in an exam room, even though I did not bring my pet. I asked my question and spoke with the vet for a minute or two. When I went to open the exam room door, the vet, Dr. Cox, put her hand on the door to trap me in the exam room. When I said that it was "very unprofessional to trap someone in an exam room," she then opened the door, but screamed for all the other clients to hear, "get out" I was shocked by her trapping me and then screaming at me. I am confused about why she was so hostile. I have given so much business to this clinic and simply came to ask a question. I will not be going there again, I felt threatened, and am concerned that such a mentally unstable person is working with people and pets. Thank you for reading. -Concerned Pet Owner
I was looking for a place that would allow me to bring my kitty home the same day as the procedure. Many places said it was mandatory to leave her over night (where, obviously there wouldn't be anyone to monitor her) and of course pay for that over night stay, that I didn't want in the first place. Thankfully I called up the Spay clinic, and not only did I get her back the same day, but it was also a lower cost than anywhere else, and around one hundred dollars less than a couple places I had priced. My Kitty has been out for about two weeks, her incision is almost completely healed and she's glad that its in her past! They did leave the goo in her eyes (the stuff so that her eyes stay open during surgery) which made her look like a refugee kitten, but it wiped off easily.
