Dr. Lori Halligan has been amazing. She always takes time to help our dog, Gizmo with whatever is ailing him at the moment. I completely credit her with saving Gizmo's life during a terrible bout with Pancreatitis -- and for that, we cannot thank her enough. The entire staff their is great, gracious and knowledgeable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have always liked Starch and University West because of the two locations and Dr. Lisa Takes. Reading these other reviews, they must have several good vets. Dr. Takes always talks as long as I like. I have always found Dr. Takes to be open minded in issues such as vaccine schedules, feeding raw and so on. I have three dogs and no serious medical problems yet. They also have a relationship with an external "holistic" vet which I plan to use if a medical condition become chronic. My only advice is someone there should start a blog, we need a good pet blog in Des Moines!
