I have a Doberman and have extensive knowledge about dog training. This place is world class when it comes to training. If you have any doubt about the quality you will see a steady stream of law enforcement officials with their dogs continually receiving training there.They performed miracles with my dog and trained not just him but me in the process. The facilities are just exceptional and are surpassed by the quality of the instructors.Any comments to the contrary I suspect are competitors or individuals in a continual state of anger at the world because everyone seems to hate them or think they are crazy. There are indoor and outdoor facilities that are unrivaled in the Midwest. All of the instructors are friendly and will offer helpful pointers.The owners also will let you use the obstacle courses ( there are two ) even if you at not taking a lesson that day. It takes about 30 seconds once you are there to realize what a world class operation it is.

I was very disappointed in Tops and the training. I had my lab there for 6 weeks! They were very rough with my puppy. She was scared more than anything. I paid $1,800.00 for them to teach my dog to sit, sometimes stay and sometimes lay down. Don't waste your time. Do your research and fine the best trainer. After all your dog is a family member. You wouldn't put your kids through that would you?

Fantastic place to board and train your dog! Even my family members have trained and boarded their pets here. They are loved like family and cared for well.

I too have witnessed a female trainer punch a dog on the top of the nose when the dog did not respond to a command. The trainers are aggressive and it is no surprise the dogs are as well. The trainers do extensive work with police and K-9 units and German Shepards are taught to utilize such behaviors. It is not a warm fuzzy place.

I have a 1 1/2yr old Dalmatian/Bulldog mix, by far i think the worst i have ever owned haha. she was crazy, and she always got enough exercise by going to the dog park and 2 bike rides and walks a day, she would constintley jump on people and she is not small by any means, not listen to me what so ever i would be trying to get her in the house for about a half hour when she was in the back yard because she thought it was all a game, we tried petsmart, it helped with basic obidence and socializing, I had told my boyfriend we needed to find soemthing that would work because i was up to here with her! I heard plenty of good things about TOPS and seen many trained dogs from them and was amazed, but i didnt really think it would work for us but i gave them a call anyways. i set up a private class which was an 1hr which i was suprised because most places were a half hour. anyways we were set up with a trainer named selina and she was amazing! i loved the way she enteracted with my dog and how she really cared about her! by the 2nd to last week of our 6week private class my dog was already training off leash, i was amazed that my crazy dog was laying off leash right next to another dog, not even worried about it! they know what they are doing and are very highly recommed which i work at a vet clinic and we recommed them all the time! i do understand though that it is not for every dog, I more think it is for the larger dog breeds that need a hard hand. So my far my experiance was great and would say they care and know what they are doing!
